For anyone who might be interested in downloading a “fish finder app” like I was when I googled those exact words, this is the app! Look, I don’t fish, but I have family who does. My son being one of those who really enjoy fishing. I don’t even have a license. I say all of this just to show I’m as “green” as you can be when it comes to fishing. But anyways, I invited some extending family out to a house my wife and I rented on lake Gaston NC. I also rented a boat for the weekend. So naturally we had a few people who brought all their fishing gear. The boat I rented didn’t have a sonar etc. I’m big on wanting everyone to enjoy themselves, so I thought what could I do to help? One morning before we all got on the boat I stumbled across this app. And let me tell you it was a hit. All anyone kept saying was, “hit refresh and see where they are now!” Even the wives who don’t fish wanted to know where the next spot was going to be. And the app is accurate. My son being caught a fish and some others caught fish. And we caught what the app said would be around us if we cruised out to the “spot”. All around very user friendly app. Only thing constructive feedback I would give is, they need to be more clear about going about canceling your subscription. But if you know your way around the web, and navigating websites you’ll fine and canceling it (which if you’re a fisherman you shouldn’t ) but if you’re like me and don’t fish, cancelling is just the click of a button once you get there. I highly recommend. Enjoy!

  • It's a good app. Could make it a little better.

    Seee_See

So, I’ve been using Fishbox for about a year now, and while it’s been useful, there are a few areas where it could definitely improve. The weather forecasting is fairly accurate, and I like how you can save different fishing spots, but I’ve noticed that the app could be a bit more user-friendly, especially when it comes to managing your saved spots. For example, adding filters or a way to categorize them would be a huge help.I also think the community aspect could be enhanced—maybe a feature where you can share spots with friends or see where others have had success. The bug fixes in the latest update have made the app run smoother, which I appreciate, but I’m really hoping the developers focus on adding more customization options and perhaps some advanced features like fish activity predictions based on more localized data.Overall, it’s a good app, and I’ve been happy to use it, but I’m holding out for some of these improvements before I fully commit to a long-term subscription. Thanks to the team for their hard work—I’m sure with a few more tweaks, this app could be a real powerhouse for anglers everywhere.

  • Paying, but Want More Updates!

    CreaRec

Used the app for a long time free, mostly just checking weather and saving a few spots and catches. I go fishing 1-2 times a month, so that was enough. Would be nice if they added more stuff for custom spots, like different markers, adding photos, filters, etc. Weather could use some work too, I use multiple apps to compare data, which is a pain. Would be awesome if everything was in one place. Then they added an assistant feature, so I tried premium. Overall, liked it. It's cool that you can ask questions in the app and give feedback right away, not through email. Also nice that they help with bait choices, like a store consultant :)Started using the fishing forecast more, but noticed it doesn't work well everywhere. In one spot, it was great for a month, in another, not so much. But you can see they’re constantly tweaking the algorithm, probably why they haven’t had time to improve the custom spots feature.Anyway, I’m happy with the app, it helps and I like it. Willing to pay for premium, but looking forward to updates. It’s great to see a team that’s not just out to make money but is genuinely committed to creating a useful product!

  • Great app with room for improvement 🎣

    Evgeniy.Rez1984

I want to share my experience using the app. I've been using it since the beginning of May until today and overall, I'm satisfied. I liked the fishing forecast functionality in terms of ease of use and accuracy. Of course, it's not 100% accurate, but I think it's about 65-70% accurate. A friend of mine uses it too and has similar thoughts about it.The information on fishing spots is good, including the fish that can be caught there and the fishing regulations, but not all regions are covered yet. I traveled to quieter places and noticed that there is not much information there, but I also noticed that new places are periodically added, which is nice. However, there is a significant need for a filter for these spots; you have to go through all of them manually when planning a trip. The coverage for depths is good on the coast, but for rivers, it definitely needs improvement. Also, there is no information on water movement in rivers. I spoke with the product manager in support and gave feedback on how to improve this. They promised to work on it. I liked that they are open to feedback and listen to what needs to be done. I felt like an expert sharing my experience. 👍 Good luck with the development; there is definitely room for improvement. I will keep an eye on you, but overall, I am satisfied and will recommend it.

    Developer Response

Thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review — we truly appreciate the time you took to share your experience. We’re happy to note that filter options for Top Spots (a Premium feature) are already available, allowing you to sort spots by water type, target fish, distance, and public or paid access. We’re continuously expanding our fishing spot database and exploring ways to improve depth information, especially in less covered areas like rivers. Your suggestions about combining subscriptions, adding a pause or family plan, and making subscription details more transparent are incredibly valuable — in fact, we're already working on displaying subscription info in the profile section of the app to make everything more clear and accessible. Please feel free to reach out via in-app chat or at support@fishboxapp.com if you’d like to share more — your input helps us improve and grow! 🐟

  • Love It 🎣

    Sandra Y.B.

Yo, been using Fishbox for a while now and gotta say, it’s pretty solid! 🎣 The app's got a nice setup for checking the weather and finding some new fishing spots, but where’s the love for us coastal fishers? 🌊 We need those live tide updates ASAP! I’ve been burned a couple of times by inaccurate info, and man, it hurts when you miss that perfect tide. Also, could use more local lakes and rivers in the database—my spots are missing! 😅I went ahead and upgraded to premium, mostly ‘cause I wanted to check out the fancy features, and it’s been alright. But seriously, Fishbox team, if you’re reading this, we need more updates on the real important stuff. Until then, I’m sticking with it, but you better believe I’m watching for those updates like a hawk.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback and specific points for improving the app. We truly value your input as we continue to develop Fishbox to better serve our users. Please note that we’re actively working on enhancing our algorithms, gathering more data, and our engineers are developing mathematical models for tides and fishing forecasts. Additionally, we have expanded our team to increase the content available in the app, which is regularly updated. Regarding missing local water bodies, if there are specific lakes or rivers that you feel are absent from our database, kindly share their names with us. You can contact us through the chat in the app ('More' tab → 'Contact support' → 'Send us a message' ) or by emailing us at support@fishboxapp.com, and we will do our best to add them as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to keep meeting your needs. Please feel free to reach out at any time! Kind regards, Fishbox team.

  • Fishing forecast

    Mike Anka

I decided to give Fishbox a try and analyze their predictions. I went fishing every weekend this summer, a total of 9 trips. The forecast is pretty accurate. Catching fish often depends on your skills and the lures you use, but when you know how to fish (and I do know), weather factors really make a difference.Out of my 9 trips, 7 forecasts were spot on. However, one trip on August 11 didn't match up. The app showed "poor" conditions, but I had great success with light rain and good pecking that day. The forecast had changed an hour before my trip, I dont know maybe it was just a glitch.Overall, I’m satisfied with the app and plan to use it to track my catches. I reached out to support, and Mike explained that saving catches will also save the weather info and give me a log of the best nibbles. I really hope these glitches won’t happen again, as I plan my trips carefully, and it’s important that the forecast stays reliable.

    Developer Response

Thank you for sharing your detailed experience! We’re glad to hear that the forecast has been mostly accurate for your trips and that you're finding value in using the app. Kindly note that while our forecasts aim to be as precise as possible, factors like sudden weather changes can occasionally impact accuracy. We're continuously improving our algorithms to minimize such instances. As for the specific August 11 event, it’s possible that unexpected changes in weather conditions led to the forecast update just before your trip. We’ll certainly review this to ensure the app remains as reliable as possible. It’s great to hear that Mike was able to assist you with saving your catches. This feature can help you keep track of your fishing history, including weather and solunar conditions, to optimize your future trips. If you ever encounter any more issues or glitches, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us again. We value your feedback and are always here to help you get the most out of Fishbox!

  • Solid fishing app

    OOHdoggy

Solid fishing app, I’ve been subscribed for about 7 months. The bite rate tracker is nice, but my favorite feature is seeing what species of fish are in the area and what baits/lures are a good match. I wish they had details on some of the smaller bodies of water in my area, but it’s understandable considering how hard that information probably is to get. It’s worth it if you are an semi-regular fisherman, but I wouldn’t recommend if you only go once or twice a year. Still, a really cool tool for the tool chest.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing what you appreciate about Fishbox! We are continuously enhancing our database. A forthcoming update will introduce numerous new spots, each enriched with detailed information. Please share your favorite locations, and we will strive to include them. You can reach out via chat in the app or email us at support@fishboxapp.com with any suggestions. Happy fishing! 🎣

  • Terrible customer service terrible business practice

    Tha god

Regrettably, if I were able to assign a zero-star rating, I would do so without hesitation. Although the application offers some valuable features, there is room for improvement. Nevertheless, the quality of customer service is severely lacking. I initially engaged with the app through a free trial subscription, which I later attempted to cancel a day or two before its expiration. Despite my cancellation, the company proceeded to charge my debit card on the final day of the trial, disregarding the active status of the trial and my cancellation. Their rationale for this action included claims of having two subscriptions – one through the app and another through the web. However, I did not authorize a web-based subscription. Although the company later confirmed this upon reviewing the email address used, they persisted in refusing to retract the charge, despite my cancellation prior to the trial's conclusion.

    Developer Response

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you've encountered, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration this has caused. Please note that according to Apple’s policy, if you sign up for a free or discounted trial subscription and decide not to renew, it should be canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent any charges. We completely understand how upsetting this situation has been for you, and we want to assure you that your subscription through Apple has now been canceled, and no further charges should occur. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and are grateful for your understanding.

  • Very hard to cancel subscription

    Killervbp5

Apparently I’m not enrolled from Apple or google but on the internet something called stripe never heard of it. Yes I tried to do the free trial saw that the apps fishing forecast was definitely inaccurate so I tried to cancel the trial. Couldn’t figure out how I even emailed them asking to cancel. By the time I figured out what I thought was how they have tried charging me. Now I don’t know what’s going on cause the app is still active. Also I spoke to an agent of there’s asking for assistance and after they told me there solution that I tried already that didn’t work I told them I tried it didn’t work they said I don’t know. Definitely do not recommend them I wish I could post my screenshot of the conversation

    Developer Response

Hello! Thanks for reaching out. • Errors and errors

    stephenfeather

The concept is sound. However the delivery is wanting. I’m on the one week intro trial and I was checking the conditions as I’m loading out my kayak to hit the water, the app failed to load any data regarding my location. This is day 4 of the trial, and in addition to today’s data problem, the “forecasts” have gone from greens to red in a matter of hours during the previous days. Yes, pop up storms change conditions, but even I can look at a weather report and know that the fishing conditions are going to change this afternoon or tomorrow. I don’t need to pay an algorithm for that. There needs to be a much larger value add to justify a subscription.

    Developer Response

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback 💙 I’m really sorry the app let you down during a trip—that’s incredibly frustrating, and I completely understand. Please note that our fishing forecast is based on 8 weather factors and 41 metrics, all processed together. Because of this, relying on a single factor can feel misleading, especially during fast-changing weather like pop-up storms. Forecasts can shift within hours, and we’re working hard to improve their accuracy every day. Also, a stable internet connection is essential to load real-time data correctly—connection issues might cause missing or outdated info.To better understand the forecast system, feel free to explore our Help Center: help.fishboxapp.com. And if you’d like personal help or to share more, we’re always here via in-app chat or support@fishboxapp.com.
