Flag bot
Be sure to double check the flag on your phone or computer because it isn’t always right. I bought one day and couldn’t get it to work the next day....
Good start
The concept behind the app is wonderful. I had a pile of 50+ flags I was trying to identify and this was a faster concept then searching Internet images. If they keep developing this app it could be great, but it is lacking a lot of abilities.
Once you scan (or take a picture) of a flag, it displays what it thinks it is with a percent certainty (which is pretty neat!), but then it adds that flag (whether it’s right or wrong) to your “collection”. There were times the suggestion was wrong, and it added that wrong flag to my collection. There should be an option to accept or reject it.
In the collection there’s no way to say you don’t have that flag. You also can’t click on any of them to make them any bigger.
Going back to an earlier point, I scanned in a flag that when rotated 180 degrees looks like the Irish flag. Turns out it was the national flag of the Ivory Coast. When I tried to take a picture of the Irish flag (multiple times), it kept telling me with full certainty that I had the Ivory Coast (Ummmm no, it’s not). So maybe a little tweaking is needed (it was a good image of it too).
I also think the $1 for one scan and $5 for unlimited is a bit much. But they probably give you no free scans so users don’t realize what an underdeveloped interface the app has.
I also had 3 flags the app never recognized, even with very good images and lighting. Then I think it’s because it’s not one of their set flags programmed in. So they should expand their database.
I hope they develop this app more because I’d be more willing to promote it. So I hope they take my suggestions to heart since I took the time to try and give some constructive feedback.
Thanks for listening.
Great app
It’s a great app and really helped me out with my social studies homework
