Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely incredible, I just have some suggestions
This game is, as the title of this review implies, absolutely incredible. The simple, responsive, and efficient control scheme allows the player to do some really cool stuff in a fighting game that would be much harder in a mainstream fighter game like mortal kombat. The sheer amount of button precision you have to have in such mainstream games is easily addressed with flappy fighter’s excellent controls. Overall this game and its content is very, very well designed and accessible to any kind of player.
Despite all of this appraisal, I still have some suggestions that I believe the general playerbase would agree with. First of all, a settings menu would be nice (though really I’m asking this so I can adjust the sound of the game so I can listen to my music and play the game at the same time). Secondly, maybe add some progression rewards for doing certain achievements such as 25, 50, and 100 winstreaks in medium difficulty. These rewards could be new colors or, yeah I guess just new colors. Finally, could you add a reset positions button in the training mode? So some players could practice their corner combos or non corner combos without having to painstakingly push them to their desired position to set up their combo.
Again, overall a great game and I can’t wait for the future of this game. Good luck on your endeavors developer, thanks for making this beautiful game.
Please add option to choose characters
To start off, this game is incredible. I always have a blast playing and I've never seen another mobile fighting game have this much quality. That being said, I still have a couple of issues. The first being that every time the app updates, my scores are reset. I don't know why this is, but I really just want to keep my scores I've had before since I've spent a lot of time getting them. Along with every update, the characters and skins change. All the skins I unlocked before are gone and I am stuck using the new character that's been adding, leading me to my next point. My last issue is not being able to select a character. I don't mind birdette right now, but I also want to use flappy and splashy at choice. If all these issues were fixed, I really wouldn't have a problem with this game. I'd also like some stuff like grabs or blocking in the direction you are holding to allow for mixups, but these are all design choices so I can't really say I have an issue with these not being in the game. Even with all the issues I mentioned, this is overall this a 5 star game and I'd recommend anyone who loves fighting games or even those who've never played fighting games before to try this app
Fantastic game, BUT Birdette is why I hate the limited roster.
This game is really, really fun. Despite its size, this game can offer hours of replayability. Unfortunately, the character you play is entirely to the mercy of the developers. When it was Flappy vs Splashy, I was okay with this (despite Splashy being better in every way), but this update shows no mercy to the player.
Birdette’s main problems are in her neutral. Because of this game’s leaning towards defensive play style, both Flappy and Splashy oppress her with projectiles and her only option to get in with her “2” is hard-punished by shoryuken. Once she gets into advantage, she’s probably better than both other characters, but you’ll more than likely never get there. On top of that, her “4” is either broken or intentionally awful, because her hurtboxes not only extend outward before her hurtboxes do, but the hurtboxes also extend further outward than her hitboxes do, meaning it gets hard punished in any situation by any ground move and most aerials from the opponent.
I can’t get into this character, and being forced to play her means I put the game down more often than ever before. I understand this is to keep the file size small, but at this point that is no longer the selling point of the game. Once the character select comes out, this will be one of the greatest games on the platform, but until then, I’m probably not playing this game and will wait for the next update.
