Description
Make your own flash cards and take the pressure out of test preparation. Flashcard Hero keeps track of what facts you already know so you can focus on what you don’t know and save a lot of time.
Beyond your average-vocab-app: We made Flashcard Hero for those of you who want to fit more than a few words on each card. You can add lists and use text formatting to structure your content. Cards even expand as you add more text so you can take notes during class and turn them into study cards later. All decks can easily be shared with others via the web.

Just wish I could access from the web
Great for studying via iPhone or Macbook. I like how it syncs all my devices via the cloud. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is bc I can't access content online. Unfortunately I work in a secure building and can't take any personal electronic devices to my office so I'm unable to study during any downtime at work.

The BEST for OCD students, compulsive note-takers
I rarely write reviews. I'm studying for two upcoming exams that are required to obtain state licensure for counseling. Over the past 4 months, I've downloaded and used 27 apps to try and find the best system for notetaking, outlining, content management, research, flashcards, etc.
That's a lot of software! Here's my findings:
1. Flashcard hero lite - I can't find a single flaw with it. The tests I'll take are divided into major sections; I used those titles to create decks within the lite version of this app. I love that this app has an export feature - you can export to a spreadsheet (and continue to add info), or to an outliner-style of notes. It's beautiful and seamless. I'm disappointed I didn't discover this app until I'd already tried over 20 other apps. I'm now using it as my main note-taking software for studying.
2. Scrivener - when my version 2 stopped working, I downloaded over 20 other apps to try and find an alternative. Obsidian and Evernote are nice, free alternatives, but I keep returning to Scrivener.
I basically write notes in either Scrivener, Obsidian, or Evernote, then narrow down the main points into Flashcard Hero. I also take practice tests, and any question I get wrong, I highlight, go back, and enter the info into flashcard hero.
From one OCD person to another, GET THIS APP!
Fantastic transition from Duolingo TinyCards
I recently switched to Flashcard Hero after hearing from Duolingo that they are shutting down their TinyCards service. My main goal was to find a new flashcard app that had a nice user experience on both iOS and OS X and was able to speak the flashcards in multiple languages (including spanish). After downloading the app on my phone and laptop, I had a hard time importing my Duolingo cards because Duolingo didn't export the data in a logical format within their CSV export. I emailed FlashCard Hero to see if they could help me avoid manually rebuilding 900 flash cards. Rico emailed back quickly saying he was building a script for me so he could convert tinycard's export format into Flashcard Hero decks. A day or two later I got an email with my data, converted perfectly into Flashcard Hero decks that required no manual entry from me. Thank you Flashcard Hero for the awesome transition and apps!
