Beautifully designed and powerful to use, Flighty is a first-class flight tracker for those on the move. The app offers detailed flight maps, live tracking, and delay forecasting — but the real magic is the perfectly timed notifications that keep you up to date and stress-free.
Edit update- shocker. My airline app was the issue. 😑Edit Jan 2024- the app stopped syncing with my calendar but when the app updated two weeks ago it was fixed. Now iOS has updated again and the app OS back to not updating. I have a ton on my schedule and would like if it was synced again. I tried to send a message through the website but it said I needed to report issues through the app. When I tried to do that it just kept making a zip file without ever giving me a way to email anyone so I’ve resorted to deducting a start and hoping someone can reach out with a solution.I love this app! Since my airline banned being able to use some 3rd party apps I’ve really struggled with finding something that keeps me up to date on my flights. The only drawbacks are: I would love to see this available for for Apple Watch, I would love to be able to save individual trips. I know I can see past trips but they are all just grouped together as a long list of flights. It would be nice to see what I did on a three day work block a month ago. I love that this app keeps track of my inbound plane and when it’s delayed. I also love all the info on the aircraft like it’s age. This app is well worth the money for pro if you fly a lot. It gives me alternate routes if it looks like I won’t make a flight and I love know what gate we are going into as well as baggage claim info that I can give to my passengers!
This app is amazing. So much so I gladly pay for the Pro subscription. However, there’s one major flaw. When you plug in a flight that has two flights under the same flight number (out and backs/round trip flights) you can’t select the right one! It automatically assumes which one you want, and you can’t change it. All you can do is delete it. Come on guys! This should have been thought of. ): **Edit: This issue only happens when I search just the flight number. You can search by city pair and it finds the correct flight. Upgrading my rating since the amazing developers messaged back and clarified some. Thanks guys! 🛫💛Response to developers: First, THANK YOU for replying back and asking for more info! That speaks volumes. If you’d like, share your email address (unless it’s somewhere I’m not seeing) and I’ll send screenshots. I work for a US airline and we have a lot of departures from the HUB, then the return back to the HUB has the same flight number. For example, AAL1782 DFW to MSP, then MSP back to DFW with the same flight number. Every time I try to add the flight before either of the trips has started or been completed, the app will only show one of the trips, not both. And it doesn’t give an option to dive deeper into the flight so you can pick the right leg. That being said, I did not realize you could search by city pair. I just tried that and it does find the right legs depending on which departure and arrival airport is searched. So it’s just when searching by only the flight number that issue shows up. Sorry for the long explanation. Again, thank you so much for responding! Literally the best app ever!
Can you clarify? After entering AA101, you tap which one you want. You can also search by route too.
I travel about 180 days a year and have tried countless flight tracking apps, but Flighty is by far the best. One of my favorite features is how seamlessly it integrates with my calendar—once I input my flight details, my schedule is automatically updated, saving me a ton of time and keeping me organized even during hectic travel weeks.Flighty is also linked directly to the airlines, so it automatically updates your flight information in the app whenever there are changes. This includes delays, gate changes, or cancellations, ensuring you always have the most accurate and current details. The best feature, in my opinion, is the gate information, especially for connecting flights. It shows your arrival gate, estimates the time needed to get to your next gate, and even provides an average travel time with a clear graph. This makes it easy to see whether you have a long connection to relax or a short one that requires you to move quickly. It’s like having a personal travel assistant guiding you through the airport.Overall, Flighty has made traveling smoother, less stressful, and much more organized. For anyone who flies frequently, it’s an essential app that delivers real-time updates, practical guidance, and peace of mind.
I am an avid traveler and I love flying. That being said, I do have some anxiety around it, and historically I’ve often worried about getting to the airport early enough, finding my flight, and anticipating delays. These days, I belong to a few airline clubs, so I enjoy spending time there before my flights. Having the immediate notifications about my flight and the ability to track where it is, and what gate it’s going to, have given me so much peace of mind. Often Flighty will notify me of something way way way before the airline updates my flight or app. One time, my incoming flight was diverted and delayed, and Flighty told me immediately. My airline didn’t even change the status or do anything for 30+ mins, and always seemed behind on what was actually happening. Meanwhile I went back to the lounge until the plane was headed my way again.I also really appreciate the new friends and family tab as I tend to add my wife and friends flights to Flighty when they’re traveling to see me or in general, and the tab makes it easier - previously I was adding and then deleting them later. Thanks for implementing that!
Listen, this app is clearly one of the best there is. The problem? The developers know this and their success has gone to their heads. If you offer any criticism whatsoever, no matter how constructive, on social media or elsewhere, the response is usually something arrogant or something along the lines of “we have the best data in the industry.” The issue here is that no one is attacking the app. It’s a fantastic app. They have to be able to take suggestions, though. Manual input has “been coming” for years now. Another issue is the inconsistent experience outside of the US. The cost of pro is the same outside of the US, but the experience is far inferior. I’m based in Europe and have paid for pro for the past 2 years. I just used it for 2 domestic US flights for the first time and the experience was shockingly good compared to what I get in Europe. I have no doubt that that is down to the availability of data in Europe, but the team also knows this. If your home airport is ex-US, then your pro price should be lower. It’s just greed and arrogance. I honestly do not see myself continuing to pay for pro until they can provide a consistent experience. If it weren’t for this and their social media interactions, I’d definitely rate the app with 5 stars, but customer service and interactions matter too.
Normally I never purchase subscriptions, especially in the settings of apps. However, as an avid aviation geek, I am thrilled to have come across this app. I have been able to coalesce all my flights together into this virtual platform. Some of the most salient features for me is the image of each aircraft for each of your flights and the information tied to each aircraft. I only hope that the developers can take it from here and add in more customizable features. One thing that I hope can be fixed is the ability to have all the image of the planes painted in that airlines livery. I have some flights added from a few years back that show up as blank/white aircraft. One other feature I hope to see in the future is the ability to map out your flights per airline or specifically out of a single airport. Again, I will continue to use this app religiously and can’t wait to see more out of it.UPDATE: Would love to have the ability to add in the date of the first flight for each aircraft. I don’t see that ability. Would love to see some new updates with new features in the near future.
This app is one of the best in the entire App Store, and has been worth every penny I have spent on it. The user interface is blazing fast, and they have beaten every airline I have ever used with the speed of their notifications. Yesterday, I was preparing to layover for 2+ hours in ATL on my way to MCI. There was an earlier flight to my final destination, but Delta wouldn’t let me book it originally since it was supposed to take off too soon (~10 minutes) after my first leg was landing. Regardless, I decided to use Flighty to keep an eye on this earlier 2nd-leg flight. Maybe I would get lucky!Halfway through my first leg at 30,000 ft.,I got a notification from Flighty that the earlier 2nd leg was delayed by 15 minutes and that my flight was going to land early by 5 minutes. There was a chance I could make it! I rushed off the first leg flight as soon as it landed, and sure enough there was a standby seat available on that earlier second leg. I ran across the B terminal and made it just as main cabin was finishing the boarding process.I got to see my family earlier because of this app. Thank you Flighty devs!
The features are awesome. The UX/UI is amazing. There is a reason this app has won so much praise and an Apple design award. My only complaint is that subscription options seems to cater only to frequent fliers. Sadly, I don’t get to travel as much as I’d like. And today, I’d have loved to buy a family subscription for a month (or even a week, though I detest the concept of weekly subscriptions, they’re usually kinda scammy… but this app is not a scam. Just make sure you keep aware that you might have gone for a weekly subscription). I wanted my family member to use this app for both flights they had today. I’d have loved to buy a subscription to cover both them and myself. And not have to buy a yearly version (family sub is only available as an annual subscription). This app deserves a chunk of change to use it fully. It’s just that well done. And I casually know one of the devs, and they are relentless in demanding perfection. But… it’s too pricey for something me and my family would use maybe twice in a year. This gap is the only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars. But if you or your family travels often, just subscribe. It’s so well done! I doubt you’d be disappointed.
Thanks 8bit. This is very very fair. We do our best within our constraints, but we can think more about this use case.
I installed the app based on its strong reviews and recommendations, but my experience with the integration features has been consistently unsuccessful. First, I attempted to connect my TripIt account following the documented best-practice steps. Each attempt resulted in an “invalid form submission” error when using Brave, Chrome, and Safari. While this may originate from the Concur API rather than your application directly, the integration is presented as a supported feature. From a user perspective, the responsibility for ensuring a functional connection lies with the app implementing the API. As it stands, the TripIt connection is unusable. As a fallback, I tried syncing via my calendar. Four out of five flight legs that appear in my calendar and are correctly imported into the app. However, one leg is not recognized. The missing leg is formatted identically to the others, auto-generated, and contains no structural differences. I then attempted to sync using the TripIt subscribed calendar, but the same leg remained unrecognized. At present, three supported connection methods yield incomplete or failed results. I reinstalled the app, logged out and back in, deactivated and reactivated calendar access, and repeated the setup multiple times. The issue persists. The UI and feature set are well designed, but without reliable and secure data integration, the application cannot be used as intended.
Update: Developer is aware this app does not work properly. The response below that the developer provided has nothing to do with the issue I was having. I was being blamed for his app not working. So I went back and forth with the developer to prove to him that his app does not properly update flight information. He was happy to respond as long as he thought the problem was on my end. The moment I sent him screenshots and proof that his tracking app was not working he just stopped responding.Run away from this app. It does not work. Original review below and ignore developer response.I am not impressed with this app or customer service. My intention was to subscribe to this app that was receiving heralding reviews fro just about everyone. However, after using the initial trial that allows you to track your first flight, I am not impressed. Almost a week ago, United sent me an email about an itinerary change to one of my flights. Flighty hasn’t yet updated that information and you would expect that an app that touts itself as “The fastest push notifications, anywhere in the world,” would notify you almost instantly when changes are made to your flight. This app completely failed to do that. Furthermore, I emailed support with a screenshot of my itinerary change and asked why the app didn’t update the information days later? No response from the developer. From reading other reviews it seems the developer is aware of issues and choosing not to respond to inquiries. So, this app for me is dead on arrival. I am going to look at one of the other highly-rated flight tracking apps instead.
Hey Rondo, we don't know if you change flights. Just enter the new flight and you're good to go!
