Ratings and Reviews
Generally good, but text view needs work...
I have generally been happy with this app. It’s a great way to take advantage of my public library. The one critique I would offer is that the text view needs some work. It would be great to have the ability to adjust the font size, the font itself, and the margins. Right now, the font size is fixed and rather small. This is a problem for anyone with any kind of impaired vision, i.e. anyone over 50 with glasses.
Adding the ability to increase the font size as well as increase the margins would vastly improve use ability for the app. Margins are important as well because the line length is too long at smaller font sizes.
One week checkout...really?
This service is new to my library, so I know there will be more variety available as time goes. However I don’t get the one week checkout thing! Since there’s no waiting for an issue, and apparently no limit to how many people can borrow an issue at the same time, why would there be a time limit. Magazines aren’t necessarily time sensitive, so I tend to put them on my shelf and get back to them later. Then feel I have to rush through or check them out again. Just silly.
Failure to Launch…
Was eager to use the app once I discovered that access was available through my public library membership. Unfortunately, it took many attempts to get the app to locate my library system and once it did, the app wouldn’t accept my library card number (OverDrive and Hoopla had no issues doing the same). Your mileage with this app may vary… But I deleted it. If you have to pay for this app, don’t bother. But if, like me, your library offers access, might as well try to login. Other than that, I’d wait to see if they make the app actually work in future updates. Would be an excellent feature upgrade. You know, basic functionality…
Developer Response ,
We're sorry to hear that you encountered this issue with the Find My Library menu. However, I'm happy to report that the latest version of the app available for download includes an improvement to the service that powers Find My Library. We hope you'll check it out again now that this has been addressed! Additionally, if you find that your library card number isn't being accepted, we might recommend reaching out to your librarians, as they configure that barcode sign in along with EBSCO Technical Support. There's a chance that they may need to update the accepted card numbers with EBSCO. EBSCO Technical Support is available 24/7 to help make any necessary authentication changes for the library. Either way, thank you for checking out the app!
