So far, so good

I’m experimenting with a couple of different apps, and I like this so far. This is more of a suggestion list than a review. I only have 20-30 chickens at any one time, and I generally give away eggs when we’re overwhelmed. Here, it’s more about the chickens than anything else. I would like a health tracker with a date feature, so that I could log that a hen is limping or sneezing or whatever, along with whatever steps I took to treat it. (Could pretty much default to Vetrx.) There should be an RIP date and Cause that is set up like your breed selector. Predator (dog, hawk, etc), Illness, Age. Although I am REALLY angry when a hawk gets one of my girls, it seems important to remind people that our biggest loss came from the neighbor’s dogs.
It would be awesome to be able to have a ‘Copy Chicken’ option, so that when I get a bunch of chicks I can set up one and then copy it and change the name, photo or breed instead of setting up each one from scratch. It would also be great to have a field to add where I got them - local or whatever mail order place I used. Just some ideas to someone who has already created a nice, friendly app.

New features?

Love using the app. A couple of things would make the app more functional for me. I’ll leave them here in case the developer decides they are feasible upgrades.

1. A date range option for the summary page. Right now it’s a summary for total data stored in the app. I want to see summary for say, one month at a time.

2. A customer data section would be awesome. I would like to store customer names, addresses, phone number, email, and trend data for what customers are buying and when. This helps me with logistics and forecasting. Being able to select the customer you are selling to in the sales tab and how many dozen eggs they are buying would help.

3. Inventory feature. I would love to keep track of inventory. The app collects number of eggs collected. I’d like to see inventory by dozen and for the app to auto calculate inventory increase and decrease with collecting and selling eggs.

4. Would like to see number of eggs sold option. Would be nice to choose by 1/2, dozen, 18 pack, 24 pack.

5. A decimal point for cents in the expenses section would help keep detail oriented records.

Second time trying

I had FlockPlenty once before, and I had over two dozen chickens on my app. Due to a glitch and an error in the app, I lost all of my information, including a couple of years of history with my birds. I became quite frustrated and deleted the app because what’s the point if it’s not gonna keep track. This is my second time trying, with all new birds, and I am hoping that, nothing happens to the data that I collect. I will give you a higher rating, so long as it doesn’t happen again.
I’m not sure what’s up with the app this time around but it won’t open. I have downloaded it and deleted and downloaded again and deleted it again and downloaded and it still won’t open for me so I’m guessing that the glitches are still in there. I give up.
