The flok app empowers those with inherited disorders of protein metabolism to manage their daily treatment, better understand their health, and communicate with their care teams. User-friendly tools for tracking diet, moods & symptoms, lab tests, and activity through wearable devices give individuals and caregivers a comprehensive picture of their health – and is backed by decades of experience serving this community. With the option to contribute to the first research dataset of its kind the flok app facilitates groundbreaking patient-led research integrated with an essential care toolset. Designed for and by individuals with Classical HCU, MSUD, Organic Acidemias, PKU, Tyrosinemia, and Urea Cycle Disorders.
The flok app is for users of all ages living with an inherited disorder of protein metabolism and their caregivers. Users under 13 can access the app when a parent or guardian creates a profile for them.
· Manage your low-protein diet easily and quickly. Search and track daily nutritional intake using the flok food database of more than 10,000 food items with values for calories, whole protein, and six amino acids: isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, and valine. Diversify diet by finding nearby stores and restaurants with low-protein options and try new recipes from Cook for Love.
· Understand your metabolic health beyond diet. Track mood and symptoms in real-time, and record medications, lab test results and additional medical diagnoses. Over days, weeks, and months, build a full clinical picture of your overall health.
· Learn how activity and sleep affect metabolic health. Discover how sleep patterns, heart rate, and physical activity relate to metabolic health, with the option to connect Fitbits, Apple Watches, and similar devices.
· Coordinate Care: Multiple care can access a profile to coordinate care. Reporting features produce comprehensive reports to share with your clinical care teams, improving
communication between visits and providing a holistic picture of your health to all your providers.
· Drive Research: The flok research platform is a first-of-its-kind research dataset fueled by daily care for our community. App users have the option to contribute to research through their app use and have full control over their data at all times.
