Florish is the complete indoor plant companion app, designed for those new to indoor gardening who may need help picking new plants for a space, or caring for the ones they already own. We are a new company and are looking for beta testers who want to stop killing their plants but don't know where to start.
Here are some ways you can use this app to grow a green thumb:
Use your phone's camera to scan the light in your room and understand what can thrive before wasting money on plants that are not suitable for your space. Our database includes many of the most common houseplants (no outdoor plants yet, sorry) and is growing every day. Don’t see your plant in our database? Submit a photo and we’ll add it to our queue of upcoming plants! All plant descriptions are written by experts who have actually grown the plants and can offer their actual pro tips, no recycled content here.
If you find a plant you like, buy it on our web store and have it delivered to your home or office (select plants and markets only).
Already own plants? Add them in the Florish app and start receiving watering notifications immediately. Our plant database also includes care instructions and common issues so you can troubleshoot problems.
Learn more about plant care and get inspired in our discover section where we aggregate tips and design trends in a regularly updated feed.
Have a new feature in mind you'd like to see? Email firstname.lastname@example.org to submit and thanks for Beta testing!

Light meter is the best feature
I mainly downloaded this app to use the light meter which turned out great. I scanned each room in my house and saved the information in the app. Although, when I go back to my saved locations it’s just the labeled names I provided (“west window living room”) and doesn’t tell me anything else. I can’t click on it to see the light level and it will only allow me to delete the saved room. Hopefully this is just something that the developers are working on and it’ll get fixed soon. But now my light meter is t working at all and says that I need more light. I deleted the app and downloaded it again, but once again received the same message.
There a couple of other issues. The plant list they have is ok and growing I’m sure, but I’m not sure how long it takes for them to add new ones. Also, I wasn’t receiving reminders unless the app was opened, but that seemed to have fixed itself.
Besides those two things, he app is easy to use, the plant descriptions look good, and I like that it gives you the reminder.

Thank you so much form your feedback! We've been collecting feature requests since we launched last year and have a big app overhaul planned, so I hope you stick around. The light meter readings are saved at florish.co in your account/profile. Sorry if that's confusing, we are going to add it into the app soon but for now I think it just says "go to our website" which isn't the best. Please feel free to email me personally email@example.com if you have any further issues or suggestions- I hear every one of them and am working every day to get an improved experience built. Keep in touch and happy planting! -Veronica, Florish Founder
More plants please.
This app is exciting, I love the scan the light feature. I use it a lot to identify certain spots in my home to determine how much light is coming through. This app has a lot of potential but currently it lacks in a lot of places. I have submitted 7 plants to be reviewed due to the app not having them loaded into their data base. 3 of those 7 have been waiting to be reviewed for 2-3weeks while the others have been submitted for a few days. An area this could be improved would be so that when you submit a photo it still shows up in the “my plants” section and would say “in review” or something. Right now it just shows a blank screen which appears like I’ve submitted nothing. Those two things(1.expand plant section. 2. Improve “my plants” section to show submissions) would bring this app closer to its potential. I have noticed some bugs in the app as well. I have noticed that when searching for plants to add them in the “my plant” section as soon as you type three or four letters the app glitches and jumps to a random group of plants and the search disappears. No matter how many times you try to type it in the search it doesn’t allow you to finish typing before it jumps to random plants.
I hope to correct this review from two to five stars when these issues are fixed.

Hi there! Thanks so much for writing a review- I'm glad that you chose to give the app a try and then take your time to give some contructive feedback. The plant names search is definitely a bug and we will fix it in the next version, so thanks for catching that. As for the plants that are yet to be added to the database, thanks for your patience while I catch up with the totally unexpected submission volume. I identify and write the plant descriptions myself and am a solo founder so it's a slow process, but am working on getting some additional help to catch up with the 600+ submitted plants (!!). If we still haven't matched yours, feel free to email me a pic at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will prioritize it for you. Also I really like the idea of it showing a status after your submission and will look into having that built if enough users have issues. Hopefully we can speed up/catch up with the database expansion and the long submission window just be an issue for a short while longer. Again, feel free to reach out directly with any additional feedback or ideas- it's incredibly valuable to Florish to have validations from real people giving real thought to the product and I appreciate your time a lot. Best, Veronica (Florish founder)
Good for some things…
I really enjoy this app! The design is very sleek and it’s easy to maneuver. However, the default ’until next water’ amount of days it decides is frustrating because I cannot change or edit that amount of time depending on what my plant needs. If I didn’t know better and just followed this I might overwater my plants and we all know what can happen if we do that (for example any houseplant should have completely dry soil before watering, and depending on the size of the pot might not be dry after the default 7 days). Also, checking off plants that have been watered is a long process and is only available with those pop ups once you open the app which isn’t very simple and isn’t customizable. Besides those things, the app is interesting and generally helpful for new plant parents!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
