Flownote has not only been a lifesaver for taking notes, saving time, and sharing the notes with meeting attendees quickly, but has also reduced my stress and allowed me to fully participate in meetings without being concerned about how to capture and summarize information. I highly recommend Flownote and believe the cost of the subscription is an investment in professional excellence!!!

I demoed a ridiculous number of AI note apps at a conference this fall. I immediately discontinued any that required bots or calendar access - I’m still in way too many in-person meetings to rely on a solution that does not work in those settings. After that, your options are rather limited. Then many of the solutions that do not require that access tend to be geared towards students and learning rather than business. Of the options meeting my criteria, I found Flownote to be the best at capturing accurate and precise notes. I’ve not experienced much of the glitchiness mentioned by other reviewers. A feature I would love is the ability to add my own notes to call out important items or follow-up tasks that are then integrated into the notes afterwards. Then I have experienced some challenges in copy and pasting the notes afterwards, mainly in formatting remaining consistent.

Update: this app continues to disappoint. I’ve had multiple recordings that have disappeared and, obviously, no notes generated. The developers have been responsive, but they cannot help or find any recordings and instructed me on how to request a refund. That refund was denied twice without consideration that the app has a 100% failure rate for me. I’ve paid over $100 for something that does not work at all. I was using this app for work as well as to manage my elderly father’s medical care. My hope was to have medical notes that I could refer to later to make decisions regarding a care plan. Pretty important!! I can’t trust this app at all to document any important meetings. Back to the standard note taking methods!First few transcripts were fast and fairly accurate. Now the recordings are stuck as “processing”. Any tips on getting them unstuck? Also wish there was a way to edit things that aren’t accurate.

I started the free week trial for this app to help with my accelerated summer class, where missing even one lecture is a huge setback. During my second lecture, the app completely glitched out and stopped recording, causing me to lose three hours of important information. I initially blamed my Wi-Fi and let it go, thinking it was just a one-time issue.Fast forward a week—I was charged for an entire YEAR without so much as a reminder that my trial was ending. No warning, no email, nothing. And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, it glitched AGAIN during a critical anatomy lecture, and I lost two more hours of notes. That’s FIVE hours of content I’ll never get back.There’s no recovery option for lost recordings, and the fact that I paid for a full year of this broken service is beyond upsetting. I’m stuck with a subscription for an app I can’t even trust to function properly when it matters most.

The first time I use this app, I really liked that. I started on the free trial and it was the best note taking an app. I thought I could find. I want to use it today because my teacher was doing a lecture. I wanted to record it because I like how it transcribe my notes and the app glitched out, wouldn’t let me stop recording, and then when I thought I finally pushed out because on my phone it showed on my phone screen like lock screen. It was still recording in the time was still counting up but in the app, it didn’t show so I lost two hours of lecture recording and can I go back and get it it’s very upsetting and I don’t even know if I want to continue with subscription because that is just ridiculous and then it says it saves to some cloud storage I don’t see a cloud storage anywhere.

I was excited to try Flownote after hearing great things, but my first experience was a major failure. I used the iOS app to record a 4-hour workshop (12–4 PM EST), and only the last 15 minutes were saved. I never left the app, and only stopped and restarted near the end when I noticed the session getting long.This was a paid, high-stakes session, and I’m deeply disappointed that the recording was lost with no warning or recovery option. I’ve tried other transcription tools, but chose Flownote because it came highly recommended. Unfortunately, it failed when it mattered most. Hoping the team improves reliability or offers clearer limits on recording length.

I downloaded this app for free and had it on my phone for a couple days but didn’t use it, i then finally opened the app and made an account with google. It then like most apps do, offered me subscriptions for more access to their app. But i was only trying it out so i clicked the X button/exited out of the offer. I played around with the app testing the features, but i didnt like it so i just exited out and forgot about the app. Later, on my bank info it shows I SPENT 108 DOLLARS!!!! ON A YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION. I dont know if i did something wrong or missed something or how it charged my card😭(i didnt put in ANY info…) I emailed them multiple times with NO ANSWER. 108 bucks down the drain..🫠🫠help

I paid for a subscription after using the trial - when it works it dies a GREAT job. One major irritation though. If you forget to stop the recording and it goes “too long” it just decides on its own to continue indefinitely. You CAN’T stopIt. I tried everything- including turning off my iPhone - it starts recording again when I boot back up. Finagling figured out I had to delete the app and reinstall if it happened. Not a major pain, but definitely irritating. I won’t be renewing my subscription because of it (there are other tools out there.)

The app does what it says, mostly. The onboarding makes it seem like it has a lot more features than it actually does. It will record audio and then process that audio into a transcript and a summary. That’s all. Given that, the pricing seems pretty steep. I know that processing like this costs money, especially for small companies with small user bases, but $7/week or $200/year seems pretty high for what you’re getting. Hopefully the price will come down or they will add a lot more useful features, otherwise I’m not sure I’ll stay a user for very long. That said, the summary is good and the transcript is accurate. What it does, it does well.Wishlist:- Edit the transcript (and reflect those changes in the summary)- Edit the summary- Name speakers- Combine speakers that were actually the same person- Web or desktop versions

Tested the app during a trial week, and I found it useful, so I signed up for an annual membership. For the last three important meetings I’ve used it on, the recordings were lost after hitting the stop button and notes were never supplied. The last meeting I recorded, I tried to hit stop and the app was frozen at the 2 min mark. I’ve now trusted this app to supply notes, and not taken the notes myself, and therefore have no key takeaways for several extremely important meetings. I’m regretting my annual purchase, as I cannot trust this app to work as intended.
