Fluency tracker© is an application designed for individuals who stutter and parents of children who stutter. Fluency tracker is the application that will complement the services of speech therapists in making progress towards a more fluent speech, positive feelings about speech, and reducing avoidance behaviors that are associated with stuttering.
With Fluency Tracker© individuals will be able to track changes in the frequency of disfluency, changes in avoidance behaviors, and feelings associated with speaking.
Here is how Fluency tracker works: You will be able to enter the times you stutter throughout the day, you may also enter where and with whom you stuttered. The application will keep a log of this information for you. You can also enter every time you avoided speaking due to fear of stuttering, and the situations in which this behavior happened.
One other feature of Fluency Tracker is the ability to also track how you feel about your speech on a given day. We know that individual’s who stutter at times feel frustrated, and helpless about their communication abilities. We want to change this perception about how you communicate with others.
Fluency tracker will display a graph of changes in your speaking behaviors so you can keep track of our progress towards a more fluent speech or towards a more positive attitude towards your communication abilities.
One of the best features on Fluency Tracker© is the ability to measure the frequency of disfluency per minute. Individual’s who stutter may pair with their speech therapists, a friend, wife or a parent to measure in a conversation who many times the person stuttered in a give conversation time. This is also a way to keep track of your progress in therapy.
Due to the fact that speech therapists can only see your speech whole you are in the room with them, Fluency Tracker will give you tools to report your fluency skills in real life.

Very good for fluency students.
This app is very good for students to hear themselves and determine when they experience dysfluent moments. Very student friendly! It's also nice to have this app on a small device, so my students are able to track themselves throughout the school day in many different school environments and not just with me.
Good for motivated client
I have used this personally and with a client. It is good when the client is motivated. However, if the client is not motivated-or not tuned into their feelings, it needs some pre-treatment in order for them to use this effectively. When the client is motivated, it can be used to capture beliefs and ideas that can be worked on therapy.
Not helpful and too expensive
I bought this app thinking it might audio record a sample a tally the dysfluencies. Instead, the user taps an icon to record data. I could do the same with pencil and paper - this is an expensive way to make tally marks and chart progress, plus it's only meant for one person! As a school based slp, there is often more than one student on a caseload who stutters. I want my $ back!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
