Best fly fishing game period.

Quite frankly there no fly fishing video games anywhere lol. I absolutely love this game and love that you can get tips and advice while shooting some flies! Graphics are decent especially for a phone game but the fight and mechanics of the game are pretty good! I really hope the developers keep improving and making enhancements to the Game! If there’s any way I could help I’d love to! I would love if there was some way of mending and just improvements to the graphic I know that’s probably a hard process but being that this is the only good fly fishing sim out there I know all of us anglers would greatly appreciate it. This game is 10/10 i love playing it at the office, but just had some words for improvement!:) take care guys keep slaying those rivers boys

I used to fly fish a lot but life, and age, have gotten in the way. This is a great reminder from matching the hatch to line management. It would be a great addition to the game though if each river posted the largest fish possible so you would know if you beat the final boss.Edit: The developer sent me the following response which makes a lot of sense and is why I changed my rating. Thanks for the feedback! The reason I don't have the app share the largest fish possible in any river or site is to stay as true to real life as possible, focusing on the simulation and not game elements like a final boss. In the real world you never know if you've caught the biggest fish in the river. But like in the real world, you can hear about where people have been catching really big fish, in this case with the "recent trophies" board. Also like in the real world, the size of the biggest fish present in any spot on any river varies. You may fish a pool you've fished many times before where your biggest catch was a 15 inch brown trout, but this could be the day a 26 incher has moved into the spot to feed."

Paul has been at the business of creating the perfect fly fishing sim for a long time. I have owned some of his earlier fly fishing programs (plus an ice fishing sim that was a hoot). He keeps improving. This newest version of the HD sim pulls you into the experience and, just like the real thing, you know there are other things you should be doing, but you make just one more cast. Then another... :-). When I saw his half price special to get the complete set of rivers, flies, rods and leaders, I jumped on it. Regarding rod behavior, as in real life, the more I have practiced casting, the better my control. One thing - it would be nice to be able to make reach, roll and puddle casts, but I suspect that would be a programming nightmare. One easy add-on though would be a depth range data for a stretch of river - to better choose strike indicator depth and split shot. You can see the speed of the water. But, in real life, you’d assess the depth by wading it or walking to different perspective points to estimate it. Small quibble. Buy the sim. Especially for iPad, where it shines. You too can be snatching brookies at 2am instead of sleeping.

I might have the guide comment if a site is deeper or shallower than one would expect. I've been considering having the guide give site-specific advice based on other features of the site or the conditions, and that might be a good way to reveal a bit more about the depth in some cases.Thanks for your support!Paul

This might actually be my third review but this game deserves it. I recently bought the complete package and it defiantly makes the game 10 times more awesome than it was before. Also it’s awesome to be able to publish rivers and share fishing spots with the FFSHD community. I think more fish species would be fun even though it is probably tough having to take all those pictures of the fish but I remember hearing something about getting pictures of whitefish and coho salmon and I think that sounds awesome. Over all this game is amazing you can do so many fun things and it’s super realistic and if I could rate this game 100 stars I would. even without paying for this game it’s AMAZING. Dear Paul Halter, I love the new update with 3d fly tying. I can’t wait for future updates and maybe see those whitefish or the coho salmon. I love this game and think it’s very inspiring how you took your passion of fishing and turned it into something amazing for others to enjoy to.

Thanks you so much!! I plan to add several species. I've got the photos now for Coho, and I'll be shooting pictures of pike, muskies, possibly walleyes, etc. I've got a trip booked to get pictures of bull trout and hopefully more whitefish.
