OS X Yosemite and Retina-ready.

Focus Timer is a tool to focus on your tasks. And focus is a key to productivity.

It helps you split your work into series of work and break sessions, takes minimum space on your desktop living in the status bar but still is accessible in one click.

You can use it for Pomodoro Technique, one of the most effective time management methods, or find your own approach to work.

What’s New

Version 1.4

- Flexible breaks. Break now can have flexible time so it is you who decide when to get back to work.

- Fixes for Dark Mode and other minor bugs.

Does what it says, basic for 2.99

Does what is says and works. Would like to see some additional functionality like tracking of time spent on specific tasks, tracking time spent on each task per day etc.

I’m disappointed with this app. It has some good features, but it lacks some basic functionality:
1) If I come back from a break a couple of minutes late, I find that the next Pomodoro is already underway. So then I have to restart the app, which makes this not much better than a kitchen timer set to 25 minutes.
2) It doesn’t track how many Pomodoros have been completed. This is one of my main reasons for using an app, because again, otherwise a kitchen timer would suffice.

I tried to contact the developers a few weeks ago about these issues, but when I hit submit on their support site, I received an error message. I tried again today and again got an error message. Overall, I’m regretting spending money on this app- I should have stuck with my phone’s timer.

Low CPU usage and simple, to-the-point functionality make this a great productivity timer. It’s great to have the short breaks because my posture invariably has come undone after being on the computer for hours. It also helps my mind digest what I was just working on and come back refreshed.

As far as the Pom method, I find the 25min work + 5min short break to be too interrupting, so I set it to 45min work + 15min short break + 60min long break after three shorts (akin to a college class schedule with lunch in the middle). This keeps me honed in for 3hr in the morning, 1hr lunch, and 3hr in the afternoon.

Perfect app, thanks!
