Ratings and Reviews
Nice but loses connection when iPhone goes to sleep
If there is a workaround to keep it connected when your iPhone goes to sleep it would be perfect. I see that the developer responses say to go to the website and contact support. I did that about three weeks ago with no reply, so I’m hoping this review will catch somebody’s attention. I noticed another review made the same comment here.
Doesn’t actually control Interface
The app only acts as a remote for the control app running on your computer. I assumed this app would let me use my iOS device to turn on direct monitoring as my computer wasn’t connected at the moment. Apparently not, though. As such I’m not really sure what the point of this app is unless you have a absolutely huge studio that walking across it would really be worse than this app.
Update: the app is actually less useful than I thought when I wrote the above a few months ago. Even if a computer is on and connected and Focusrite control is open, all the app can do is change output levels. It can’t even change between custom mix presets, which is about the only thing I ever want to do with the Focusrite software
Unfortunately, the app will rarely connect with the Mac version to control the Scarlett 6i6 on the iPhone or iPad; and when it does, lists ghost versions of my Interface on the iPad, one showing up even when the device is powered down, but not actually showing any activity or having any control over it, this selection cannot be deleted, even if the app is deleted and re-installed; the other showing up when the device is powered up, working correctly, but with the exact same name as the non-functional selection. Grrrrrr. It has worked, a couple of times, showing its potential.
Focusrite Control for Mac should be added to the App Store, as this software pairing is in obvious need for persistent, focused, and automatic updating.
