Ratings and Reviews
Exactly what I was looking for
That’s pretty much the kind of functionality I would expect from Apple themselves (I already used aliases on my macintosh’s desktop 30 years ago… I was 6 years old 🤨!)
But so happy that someone smart did the job for them ! It’s still a bit rough on the edges but I guess widgets don’t allow much freedom to program with…
One feature I miss though : being able to rename the shortcuts to make them shorter in the context of the app ( i want to keep the original file or folder name untouched ) otherwise it’s unreadable.

Thank you for your great feedback. I am highly appreciating it and will give my best to make the experience even better.
It didn’t work at first, but then …
It didn’t work at first (even after a restart, I couldn’t add widgets I had made), but then suddenly and mysteriously it worked beautifully.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I am happy that the app is working for you now.
Sometimes there's a restart of the device necessary as iOS doesn't find the app widget after a fresh install. Kind regards, Marian Koenig.
Works well and saves steps
The native iOS Files app was a huge upgrade from older third-party file manager apps when it came out several years ago, but it still has some limitations. This File Shortcuts app helps make up for some of those by saving me steps when I am working on my iPad. Good app, and works well.
