This product is perfect for both the foodie, and the person just looking for some good eats. There are a lot of the apps in this space these days, but absolutely none of them are like Forkist. Think Instagram meets Grubhub, but somehow better. I was salivating within the first few seconds of scrolling, not just from the near professional quality of the pictures of the actual food, but also from the quality of the descriptions and reviews, that made the restaurant selections on the app seem like an oasis amidst the barren desert of food selections on other apps, which let’s face it, are all designed to look and act the same.

If you have gotten this far in the review without downloading the app, you are clearly doing something wrong, and you need to stop now, and download it. Feel free to thank me later. But most importantly, thank the team that brought this shining light into our lives.

Find restaurants and track where you eat with your personal food journal

The ability to track where you eat and keep private ratings, reviews and photos is great for remembering where you’ve dined!

Forkist is a nice change from the other food apps out there!

Remedial

I have no idea how this app has a high rating, must be from paid reviewers. None of the restaurants shown on the Home Screen are even remotely close to me. I live in a huge southern CA metropolitan area yet it’s showing me restaurants from Flagstaff AZ and New Jersey. Thanks but not helpful. Then when I search for restaurants it only shows me ones in my direct neighborhood. Pretty sure I’m already aware of these. I want to explore other neighborhoods and learn of new options. This doesn’t allow that. It keeps going back to your current location. So if you are home, trying to find a restaurant a few miles away, this app is completely useless. Lame.

Hi Km92115, thanks for the review, your feedback is honestly very helpful. Our goal is to create an app that you can connect with friends, see where they are eating and post about where you are eating. But it's still early days and we understand there are areas we can improve on.

In the near future we plan on implementing location to your social feed so you see posts from restaurants closest to you first. Additionally we'll have a map where you can view the restaurants that your network has eaten at and the associated posts.

Regarding the restaurant locations only near you, we wanted a fast, convenient way to find a restaurant near your current location when you were out and about. Traveling, driving, en route to a meeting, site seeing, etc. This of course doesn't allow you to search for restaurants in other neighborhoods, thank you for pointing out this flaw.

A minor remedy to this would be to hit the refresh button in the top right of the map to cycle through additional results which expand outward from your location based on distance.

All that being said, thanks again, honest feedback like this is how we can truly improve the app experience for everyone. We hope to see you back on the app in the future!
