Worth it!!!

I loved following Forma on IG and was so happy when they came out with an app. I was shocked by the price at first since it’s a lot more than all the other apps I used to use. I finally bought it after being obsessed with the Forma IGTVs and I am so happy I did! These workouts are way better than any other app I have used. They are actually hard and I feel instant results. I hated working out at home alone but I started by doing the 10min videos daily and now I’m full blown addicted. I even brought a booty band and ankle weights on a trip with my friends so I wouldn’t miss a day. I have never been that person and now all my friends are obsessed too. I deleted all other apps and will only be doing Forma from now on! Highly recommend! It’s worth every penny!

Fantastic Workouts - Mediocre App

The workouts are as good as they come! Amazing overall. But the app itself is pretty terrible. I can’t see which workouts I have completed, organization is awful, and when I complete a workout and want to save it for later, it has already moved on to a new workout and the one I wanted to save gets lost in the abyss. We aren’t able to see if a workout requires equipment - it looks like they tried to start noting it, but its inconsistent. There should be a filter that allows out to choose the pieces of equipment that you have/want to use.

This has incredible potential, and at this price point I would have hoped that they would put more of this into consideration. I am sure that Forma is making enough money with their expensive in-person and exclusive classes, so this app is just a passive online, static money maker and maybe just an afterthought. So I am not expecting that they will improve the app. Although, I acknowledge the quality of the workouts and am more than willing to pay ~$500 a year for these workouts and this is an incredible opportunity for them to cash in on a significant amount of passive income from already recorded videos. But sadly, I will not be renewing my annual subscription when it expires unless the app improves. It’s too frustrating.

I hope they improve the app, and if they do, I will be a loyal subscriber!

Forma Pilates

Videos are great. She moves through the routines at a perfect speed, and there are enough videos available to create a good at-home routine. She uses platforms, bands and weighted balls, all of which I had to order. She uses merrithew/stott, and I have a balanced body reformer. There are some minor differences (eg. tramp vs jump board), though nothing serious. Her routines are slightly different and more challenging than what I was used to going to in-person reformer classes.
I have lower back problems and am trying to avoid/delay fusion surgery. Pilates keeps my back pain away as long as I do it consistently. With Covid still a “thing” I really don’t want to work out at a gym. I may not go back now that I’ve found this subscription.

Forma App needs to update classes weekly

The classes saved online or great but it is difficult to use app. It’s not organized. It doesn’t tell you if you have watched a video and already completed that class. At this price point- the app should be user friendly with lots of helpful options to make navigating easier. They also don’t update new classes frequently. I would expect at $50/month you would be getting new content weekly.
***Advice: it would be helpful to have them do a recommended schedule weekly. My Pilates Project - puts together a weekly schedule with videos each week. They are new and updated weekly. This makes it easy to just follow her schedule each day of the week or whenever I choose. I don’t have to search for video/class to do. I can log in go to day and start my workout.

Wish we could extend our paused subscriptions w/o being charged

I subscribed when this app first came out a couple years back and it was okay for me. I hate how we can only pause our subscription for 3 months at a time - and there’s no option to extend it unless it reactivates. Huge issue for me. I ended up cancelling since I’m looking for an app that uses the same reformer as me just to simplify things a bit better. I have an Allegro 2 reformer, so following the reformer classes was kind of annoying for me when it came to springs and a few times when the workout included a segment on a tower, which I don’t have. I enjoyed a lot of the mat workouts which I normally hate from other trainers and on other apps. If they figure out a way to allow us to extend our paused subscription and not get charged for a month in order to pause again, I’d probably reactivate my account!

Overpriced and underdelivered

I was shocked by the membership price of forma but was more than willing to pay it based on the in person classes + hype around this awesome brand. I used the app for 8 months now and it’s honestly awful. There is no consistency between uploads, the format or the schedule, the strategy clearly lacks focus and half the time I cannot even access the videos it just keeps spinning. Ive been cycling through the same 10 videos for the past 6 weeks because that’s all that works. The ERP you guys are using needs to be updated and the template for creating/uploading videos should be defined. Some videos I get to see equipment prior and some I don’t realize we are using a piece of equipment until it gets to that move and I have to pause the workout scramble to get the equipment and reset. It’s just really frustrating when I pay monthly what you can for most Pilates apps a yearly membership. This is unacceptable

Nothing but Forma Pilates for me!!!

For years I’ve struggled to find a regular fitness routine, Forma Pilates is the solution to everything I’ve been looking for. With quick and effective workouts you can do at the convenience of your own home, it is so easy to incorporate the workouts into your daily schedule. Now I never have to go back to the gym. The community is also super supportive and I love that I’m always challenging myself in new ways with Forma Pilates workouts.

Please organize this better!!

The workouts are excellent but it’s so poorly organized. You should be able to select which form of Pilates you want to do i.e Reformer or Mat. This is important because not everyone has a reformer sitting around. After you select your form of training then it makes sense to have categories like Abs, glutes, back etc. while I realize there currently are Reformer and May workouts.. the more focused area workouts are all jumbled with both Mat and Reformer. You should be able to see if something needs special equipment before clicking into the video too. There are Pilates apps for $10/a month that are more intuitive so at this price point I expect better. Please fix this!! Like I said, the workouts are great! But for $50/a month it shouldn’t be such a pain to navigate.

Caveat

I didn’t mind this app at all, it’s cheap as far as at-home monthly workout memberships go, it’s aesthetic & the instructors are obviously knowledgeable. However, I would want to follow the mat workout weekly schedule & found that a lot of the exercises require pilates equipment… Block, ball, bands, halo, etc… Which I don’t own. I felt like I was having to modify everything. Would be perfect if you’re already set with this equipment / a reformer.

Worth every penny

I am new to Pilates, but I am so glad I tried and am so glad I found Forma Pilates. They send out a weekly schedule, which I super appreciate, as I don’t want to spend time searching which workout I should try. Perfect length for this busy working mom of two. I feel healthier and stronger even after a few days.
