Description

The experimental audio-visual app Format4 is an extension of FOO/SKOU’s interactive sound installation Disharmony of Spheres.

Disharmony of Spheres consists of 81 singing spheres inspired by our solar system, crafted from ceramics. Object design, texture, melody sequences and sound design is based on the planets' rotation time around the sun, their layered construction, and a series of philosophical world views.

Format4 turns the iPhone camera into an optical sound device that plays the 81 spheres sampled from the installation, as a cosmic choir.

Voices: Josephine Philip, Hannah Schneider, Maria Køhnke, Kristina Holgersen, Sharin Foo, Mathias Hjortdal, Molly Foo, Louise Foo, Martha Skou.

Danish-born collaborative duo FOO/SKOU (Louise Foo and Martha Skou) merge technology with analog processes to explore composing, making, and experiencing sound in the digital age.
