Since the coupons never successfully apply in person, I use this for grocery pickup and you can save a TON on clipping coupons and applying to your order. Whatever is on sale is how I plan my meals for the week. New coupons drop on Wednesday at midnight. And expire Tuesdays around 9pm. So place orders before then. Best time for pickup is in the AM when everything is stocked.
UI for delivery could use some improvement. When you’re shopping, the shopping cart icon disappears, and you only see an icon for milk and an apple in the bottom left corner, but the delivery icon remains in the top right corner, so it’s intuitive to believe that the delivery icon is what you used to fulfill the order, but it’s not… And if you click the delivery icon, it just allows you to keep re-entering your address and so at some point you think it’s not accepting your address and it’s broken and that might lead you to bounce. To get the check out icon again, you have to click the milk/Apple icon in the bottom left corner and it would be easier just to leave this active and do something else with delivery. You should be asked about fulfillment maybe a check out instead of just having the delivery button floating
I've been using this app for several years, but some of the recent changes have me frustrated. First and foremost, I can't find the CART icon and I want to see what's in my cart! UPDATE: I closed and reopened the app and my icons reappeared along the bottom. Perhaps I zoomed and didn't realize.Second, when I search for something, specific, the results don't seem to be accurate and often include unrelated items. Third, I don't trust that results from choosing to see ALL the items related to a particular discount are included. Last, and this might be related to my settings, but when I receive texts or emails and try to open the included link, a browser other than my default browser opens. This other browser isn't even a browser I recall adding and isn't the browser that came installed on my phone. Because I never use this browser, it doesn't have my login credentials, so I have to do battle with the gatekeeper until I give up and manually go to the correct browser, then the site, and log in. Other than these issues, I have a complaint unrelated to the app: I can't order three bananas. I can only order 5-7. I don't NEED or want that many bananas; they'll go bad. This and other restrictions, like deals only available in the store, shouldn't exist.
The latest app is hostile to in-person shoppers who use multiple shopping lists:- The home page, where the product search control is, gives no indication which list is active.- Selecting the active list is buried in the menus. Once you select an active list, the subsequent view has no way to search.- After you scan a barcode there’s no way to save the found product to a list, making barcode scan useless.- Cannot add a generic item to your list (e.g. “carrots”). You are forced select a specific product even if you want to compare products or window shop while you at the store in person.
This last update has made it really difficult to use the in-store shopping list. I can no longer search for or scan items from my list screen, have to spend a bunch of extra clicks backing out of the list screen to get to the search screen. And when I find an item, I can only add qty 1 to my list...have to go ALLLL the way back to the list screen to increase the quantities. Seems like FM just wants users to purchase & pay in the app and wants to discourage in-store shopping.
I find the latest update to be a total waste of MY time. I cannot access the weekly ad from the main page, now I have to click ‘save’ and go to another page to click the ad. I have to click search if I want to check for something, then I have click search again on the next page. Coupons do not always stay ‘activated’ or clipped and you’ve got so many freakin categories it’s impossible to find anything again. You should do better for the consumers, this is absolutely NOT better.
