Convenient, with issues
After using this app for several weeks, I can see where the low rating is coming from. I have an iPhone XS, and the app appears to be formatted ok to fit the screen. It doesn’t reach the very top or bottom, but it’s much better than when using an app that isn’t formatted for an iPad. There isn’t much on the app where you need the extra space.
The function options on the app are great... I literally use my phone whenever I want to make some kind of change to the unit, as the remote it came with doesn’t work and I don’t want to have to get up and walk to the AC every time I want to make a change. It offers a sleep mode in the evenings and a clean air mode as well, but I’m not sure what the clean mode does, supposed to be cleaner air coming in, but I would expect that to be a default? The sleep mode gradually increases the hold temp by 4 degrees over an hour so you don’t use as much energy at night. The app is clear and very user friendly.
With that being said, my #1 complaint is it loses connection to the unit almost every single day. I have to “forget the device” in the app and then repair it with my WiFi network almost daily. It doesn’t take long to do this, but it is quite annoying when I want to make a change when a friend is over or if I’m already in bed and I open the app to adjust the settings and then I can’t because it says the connection was lost. Not sure if this is an issue with the app or the devices themselves.
I’d give it zero stars if I could
(1) typically people have a preference. Mine is 60 degrees, fan high, never eco mode. Every time I turn the AC on, I have to redo these settings because it does not default to my preference. I have to switch from “eco mode” to “destroy the environment mode” then watch the app for 5 seconds as it displays “hmmm... thinking.” Then i have to scroll through the temp down to 60 degrees, “hmmmmm let me think a little frekin more.” Then I have to turn the fan to high, “hmmmmm, I could have read a Lord of the Rings trilogy by now”
(2)Something happened to the connection between my phone and the AC and they would not communicate. So I tried deleting the AC from the app, “hmmmm thinking is taking longer than normal.” So then I try deleting and reinstalling the app and the AC is still on the app. So, I tried to delete the AC again, “hmmmm thinking is taking longer than normal.” Finally, I added a new AC to the app and this fixed the issue.
I purchased the AC unit because of the option to connect remotely through my phone. The concept in and of itself is a great idea. Execution of the app on the other hand is beneath contempt and is more aggravating than it is an asset.
I’m a clown, and will but beers for their developers
Bought the product belong lead that it was the innovation of controlling your home temperature when you are away. It worked for sweet three months but the bugs were so many that they decided shut all down alleging this and that and some of this other excuse.
Gave it a last shot to fix the WiFi with my phone but this is just pure crap. I want my 45 minutes of my life back wasted on this company’s lie.
Lying to costumers that buy things from you that makes the believe that life will get easier and that you will have this small luxury in the end of a hot day to turn on before you heading there, but doesn’t work. That’s the reason why I bout the AC at first place. But...nada. Shame on you on having actual budget to delepot things that people will remember you for, but you’re a bunch of sandwich eaters that hate y’all job and just read the news while could be actually making a difference for many. Cheers mate. I’ll get the next one for ya since I’m a clown! Might as well.
