Ratings and Reviews
Japanese does not have tones!
Could you please get a native Japanese speaker to do the speaking?? Japanese does not have tones like Chinese does. A lot of the kana were not spoken correctly. Many were spoken with what sounded like Chinese tones(I am currently learning Chinese.) and that was so annoying! The words spoken in the quizzes sounded better though. I have been around a lot of native Japanese in person and I can honestly say that they do not use tones like the Chinese do, when speaking the kana or words. I have gotten help with language study from the Japanese people I know so that’s why I know this is fact. I got this app just to see what it did, even though I can read and understand and speak a lot more than what this app offers. It would be very nice if a native Japanese speaker could redo the kana at least, if not the rest of the words, but changing everything to a native speaker would be best. It’s not a bad app in what is offered at all. It’s just that the speaking needs to be fixed. If it gets fixed, I can change the rating.
Developer Response ,
不快な思いをさせてしまいすみません、音声の収録は日本人のネイティブで日本語教育能力検定の資格所持をしているものが録音したものです。
たしかに同じトーンであ・い・う・え・おと録音はしておりません。
また、単語、特に同じアクセントで別の意味の単語なども日本語のもつ高低アクセントを強調して収録しています。
