A reminder to get away from your keyboard, up out of your chair, and to move around. Sitting still for hours is easy to do and hard to notice. GAFK (Get Away from Keyboard) is a quiet nudge that gets you out of your chair. Set an interval, and GAFK reminds you to stand up and move. That's the whole app. HOW IT WORKS Pick a reminder interval from 20 minutes to 2 hours. When time's up, a notification appears on screen with your message. Stand up, stretch, walk around, get a glass of water, whatever helps you to move. Dismiss it, and the countdown starts over. MAKE IT YOURS • Write your own reminder message, or keep the default • Six intervals: 20, 30 and 45 minutes, or 1, 1.5 and 2 hours • Optional sound, using your Mac's own alert tone and volume • Preview your reminder any time to see exactly how it will look BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY • Lives in the menu bar, so your countdown is a glance away • "Get Up Now" fires a reminder whenever you want one • Pause and resume without losing your place — the countdown keeps whatever time was left on it, rather than starting over • Sleeps when your Mac does. Close the lid overnight and you won't be met by an overdue reminder the moment you open it again PRIVATE BY DESIGN GAFK collects nothing. No analytics, no accounts, no network connection of any kind. Your settings never leave your Mac. There is nothing to opt out of, because there is nothing being gathered. Requires macOS 13.5 or later.
