The GAIN Group & Personal Training app connects you with real personal trainers for custom guided workouts and enables you to stay connected and accountable 24/7. GAIN allows you automatically share important progress measurements to your trainer if you choose to allow GAIN to access your Health data (via the Health app).
2 ways to train:
1.) PERSONAL TRAINING: If you already have a 1:1 in-person trainer, GAIN provides the mobile app extension. Your trainer sends personalized workouts in the app and holds you accountable with messaging and notifications. Great for when you travel or want work out more often than you can afford to meet with your trainer.
2.) GROUP TRAINING (Beta): If you can’t afford a personal trainer, or don’t have time to find and meet one IRL, you can now join a GAIN Training Group. These groups are led by real fitness pros and pack the same 1-2 combo of custom workout plans and 24/7 connection and support. Group messaging and notifications unlock the motivation, accountability and support you can only get from joining a community of real people like you.

MOST CUSTOMIZED & VARIED WORKOUTS:
Trainers often build workouts and programs from scratch to their exacting specifications. No two workouts are the same. Trainers pull from our comprehensive exercise library of more than 1,700 exercises, mashing up exercises from varied training approaches, including bodybuilding, Cross Fit, yoga, functional strength training, Pilates, HIIT, bootcamp, gymnastics, calisthenics, rehab exercises, and more.
TERMS & PRICING:
The Group Training feature is currently in Beta, and we are not charging anything for it yet. The Personal Training version should be discussed and negotiated directly with your personal trainer.

Bad UI and Low Dev Support
I've been using this app for the last 9 months and have seen very few updates to it's clunky UI. For a month it was point blank not working. That being said, it's an effective way for me to communicate with my trainer.
I joined GAIN Fitness 3 years ago and it’s been my go-to workout app ever since. The virtual trainer relationship has been surprisingly effective in getting me to workout more often and at a higher intensity. Also, being assigned workouts keeps things fresh and interesting.
Best bang for your buck
I can't believe how much progress I have made since starting with my GAIN trainer. We met at my local gym a few weeks ago and ever since I have been getting daily workouts from her sent to my phone through the GAIN app. I am training for my second half-marathon and knew I needed something a little more diverse to assist in my workout routine, in addition to someone there to motivate me (aside from my workout partner) and hold me accountable for my workouts. In the past I have had a personal trainer but realized how expensive that got--plus, who wants someone standing over them and counting their push ups for them! With the Hybrid Personal Training from GAIN, I can workout where I want and when I want while having the luxury of the personal trainer to prescribe me workouts to help me get a PR in my half-marathon! Great app overall, highly recommend for anyone who want to hit a goal. Seems a little pricey, but in comparison to a traditional personal trainer..not so much.
