Description
By utilizing Xsens DOT sensor, over 14 parameters of walking behavior can be analyzed.
This application, StepLab (ステップラボ), is a shared app for both StepLab+ (ステップラボプラス) and the general medical device StepLab Medical (ステップラボ メディカル).

Overview of the Product
This application is designed to analyze walking and provide fall risk evaluation reports, a first in the industry, by attaching smart sensors to the instep of both feet to measure walking patterns.
It analyzes and visualizes over 14 different gait parameters, including:
Step count,
Stride length,
Walking speed,
Slide distance,
Cadence,
Minimum and maximum toe height,
Stance-swing ratio (%),
Lift-off angle (degrees),
... and left-right differences in each metric.
With the latest update, a new "Fall Risk Assessment" function has been implemented along with a user-friendly UI, making it easy to share results with users and their families.
Additionally, features such as:
AI-based gait analysis (using ChatGPT),
Scoring and evaluation by comparison with same-age peers,
Basic exercise advice,
Support for non-specialist staff to provide feedback
→ remain available as before.
The system supports multiple user registrations not only through the app but also via the cloud platform.
Each analysis result is saved and managed both within the app and on the cloud, allowing results to be viewed via a PC browser.
Users can also compare their data to national average values.
Data can be exported as CSV from the app, making it highly useful for gait analysis in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and research institutions.
Other Main Features
Video recording during measurement is supported. The video is saved and can be viewed along with analysis results.
Up to five event markers can be input during measurement. Events such as standing up from a chair, start of walking, and other user-defined points can be segmented for separate analysis.
An auto start/stop feature allows solo measurement by placing the iPad/iPhone on a stand — helpful when a caregiver is assisting the test subject alone.
Progress tracking of each user’s results can be reviewed both in the app and on the cloud.
The cloud also allows comparisons with average data filtered by region, gender, and age group.
