Game of Words is a new kind of word puzzle game for phones and tablets.

"Great word game that challenges and relaxes you at the same time. Good for learning new words too. I highly recommend it." - Piperidine

Game of Words is a new kind of word puzzle game for phones and tablets. It contains elements similar to crossword puzzles and word jumbles. You can complete the game in any order you like. There is no time limit, no score and no penalty for trying different combinations. In case you get stuck, there are extra hints available to help you.

This game has been designed from the ground up to work with any screen size from phone to tablet to give the user an enjoyable experience.

FEATURES
• Clean interface designed for simple and easy game play for all screen sizes
• Fun and challenging
• Forty levels with six additional expansion packs
• Expand your vocabulary with thousands of words
• Extra Hints are available if you're stuck by revealing a letter, a tile or the whole word

GAMEPLAY
The goal is simple; complete the level by finding words on the screen in any order.

You are given hints on the left with additional information on the right, to help you decipher the hint. You have the option of what that additional information is. Either the number of letters, a scrambled representation of the available letters or for added difficulty you can set it to display nothing.

Odd definitions

The definitions are odd. This could be because I’m American. We would not call a first-year student a “fresher.” “Apprenticed—bound by contract”—I looked it up, and that is listed as an archaic definition.

I am surprised by the difficulty. I am on level 7. I have encountered:
Buckskin
Rustling (as in stealing cattle)
Papoose
Donna
Apical
Salience

...and other words I hear very rarely.

If the words are going to be hard, that’s great, but the definitions don’t need to be for the most archaic or unusual use of the word then.

I still gave it 4 stars because it’s refreshing to have a word game that isn’t just another version of Boggle with a different background.

Update to previous review

I received an email from the developer & want to respond by changing my rating. It was not fair to provide a low rating for the game due to charges during the promo period; that is handled by Apple. It is a good game, and I appreciated a response from the developer. The developer responded to where the restore button is located, so I have the features on my iPad as well. Thank you.

Previous review:

Like another reviewer said, I was also charged to unlock the game levels during the promo period. It was advertised as being a “free unlock”. Since I ended up being charged downloading on my iPhone, isn’t there an option to “restore purchases” for the iPad to avoid more charges?

Developer Response ,

You should not have been charged if you unlocked it during the promotion period. When an item is free, it will still ask for the password but there will be no price.

The payment processing is handled directly by Apple and not by the developer.

There is a "restore" button that is located on the top right inside the game. Simply click on any of the levels that have the shopping cart next to them.

Solid word puzzle

A lot of fun, though it's tricky for Americans given some of the terminology. If you're totally stuck, you can view the words as scrambles to get started. Anyone who enjoys word games should play through the first 40 levels.

For those complaining that it wasn't free after App Advice said it would be:
1) it *was* free. The confirmation for the add-on showed it was free, even as the in-app icon had a price.
2) even if it wasn't, that's not the fault of this app maker

App Privacy

The developer, Trivia Labs, has not provided details about its privacy practices and handling of data to Apple. For more information, see the developer’s privacy policy.

No Details Provided
