Gamma - Game Emulator 4+

When Gamma first launched, there were quite a few bugs related to the app crashing whenever a controller was connected, which looks to be fixed now. Happy to see the dev is quick with updates! I’m sure over time, more features and bugs will be squashed.

My only complaint is the obnoxious fullscreen ads in the app when you first launch a game. I don’t see any obvious way to close these apps, there’s no “X” icon like there usually is. I would rather there be an in-app purchase option to remove ads. If not that, then at least better ads that don’t feel so spammy.

In the meantime, I will be using Retro Arch instead, which has no ads but has a horribly complicated interface.

This actually works quite well! This emulator runs the games at full speed and has good sound. It lets you push two face buttons at once, and it also has haptic feedback which is helpful because it means I don’t have to look at the buttons when I’m pressing them. The buttons are also positioned so they are easy hit.

If it sounds like I’m maybe I’m overfocusing on the controls, that’s because the recent emu boom in the App Store has brought a few emulators that are practically unplayable due to bad controls. This handles it quite well, though.

Now on to the problem. The four back buttons seem to be missing. In portrait mode, there are four buttons ( 1 | 2 | 2 | 1 ) across the top, but none of them press. In landscape mode, only the L1 works, the others don’t. But if you play games that only use the front of the controller this emulator basically does everything right.

Really good thank you for this app, please if there’s a way we could remove Ads maybe through an external website or using an app purchases I don’t know. Or you could switch it to a donation base system, you may need to change course though or add alternate course for better performance or more options like resolution and frame rate, and you know using enhancements or hacks. But definitely giving us some options with different core, or at least fixing certain core issues I don’t know if it’s your core or someone else’s open source, but there are some issues with artifacts and such but other than that it’s really good. Thank u!
