Too many Ads ruin the experience. Get RetroArch.

Everything about this emulator seems great: the user interface, ease of adding games, and support for controllers and other options. If you are familiar with the Delta app, you will know your way around Gamma. It’s essentially the same thing. It emulates games well; however, I did encounter a few issues with some games not working or partially working. I’m sure future updates can fix this.

The major issue is the ads. Open the app, ad. Open a game, ad. Hang on the opening screen too long, ad. During the ad, it automatically opens the App Store so you can close out of it and continue watching the same ad even longer. The majority of these ads are egregiously long, the kind you can’t get out of until 2 minutes later. Then it will automatically open the App Store to the product and continue the ad even more. This really kills the experience and mood.

I suggest getting RetroArch. It plays PS One games with no issues. It’s not as intuitive as Gamma, but if you take the time to learn how to set it up, the experience will be better. Best of all, RetroArch has no ads, so you can play right away. Do better, Gamma.

Doesn’t work properly and has Ads.

I will delete this review if they fix the app crashing when connecting a Bluetooth controller and remove the ads. I gave it 2 stars because I’m grateful for the attempt to give us PS1 emulation, but it doesn’t work if you want to use a controller. The app crashes as soon as you press a button on the controller, and crashes if you try to customize the controller map. The Ads are ridiculous. You get one when you open the app and then another when you open a game. I ran into an ad that was over a minute long and didn’t allow me to skip at all. No skip button. I ended up closing the app and don’t plan on using it until it’s updated. I would also suggest adding more skins for people without Bluetooth controllers, because the default isn’t appealing, but to be honest I feel like PS1 games should be played with a controller (how they were intended) unlike some GBA emulators because GBA games aren’t as complex as a console game with more buttons and can be played on a touch screen. Please consider listening to what I’m saying because I would love this app and promote it a million times if it worked and didn’t have ads! I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels this way… Thank you for trying to give us PS1 emu! The attempt isn’t unnoticed! Just fix it and it’ll be 5 stars in no time.

Getting better, but quite there yet

The devs were quick to fix controller support and toggle fast forward so that was nice. But I’m running into every game having just AWFUL audio. And it’s strictly the emulator. The games are all from trusted sources, I’ve used the exact same files on other devices just fine. And it’s just this app. I don’t have audio issues with any other app on this device. The audio sounds laggy, scratchy, and you can hear loud clicks when new songs or dialogue is spoken. Almost like a walk-in-talking clicking on and off.

Also, on games like Silent Hill, for example, there is a large distracting white box surrounding any moving characters on the screen. But this error is not all games, just some.

If support for button mapping could be added, that would be swell. Unfortunately, I’m playing with an Xbox controller and things like the X and O buttons are flipped flopped. Yes, I could just used to it and for the most part I have, but it would be nice to be able to remap buttons where I wanted. Including the fast forward button toggle as well.
