Finally Treating My Inner Child

Having an emulator to satisfy my old self from when I was much younger helps me finally put to rest all those thoughts of “I wonder what it would have been like to play that game.” I had a hand-me-down PS1 when I was younger and very few games to play but remember going to the video store and browsing the selection of games to rent and was always overwhelmed with the choices (I could only afford one 3-day rental per month). It’s been over 20 years and I still remember the feeling of that desire.
When I first booted up Tomba 2 on Gamma and started playing through it, a smile curled up on my face and I felt like an old part of me had finally been satisfied. Still trying to convince myself I’m not dreaming.
To all who put their time into developing this emulator: Thank you. Truly. I wish I could shake your hand(s) and look you in the eyes to thank you in person. Thank you for keeping our dreams and distant memories alive.

I suppose I should mention (for those interested in using this) the ease of use as well! All the ROMs are running SO smoothly and I’m using an Elite Series Xbox controller to play. Installing games was no hassle. They even provide instruction for use when you first open the app. Download the ROM (preferably in .zip format), open the file from your downloads folder, start playing. It’s incredibly easy to use and I’m still wracking my brain over having access to something like this. So dang happy right now. 🤗

Gamma Emulator - The Best PS1 Emulator You Can Get

I have been using Gamma for a few months now and this app has quickly become the top used app on my iPhone/iPad! I typically refrain from writing reviews but I decided to make a special exception for this app and the developer. Everything, in my opinion, about this app runs great. The UI is clean and easy to use, the games run great, everything is very responsive with the controls, and the app is even coming out with more improvements to make the experience even better (the ability to play other media while simultaneously playing a game and having the ability to adjust the game audio to a level of your preference is such a top tier addition to this app)! The developer is also very responsive and clearly shows a desire to make the best application possible. I decided to use the application’s in-app bug report feature and the developer not only responded within hours but had the bug fixed in less than 24 hours. While I was prepared to either not hear back at all or hear back after a bit of time (I do not typically report bugs with the apps I use) I absolutely did not expect such a quick, genuine, and high quality response from the developer in such a short amount of time. In my opinion, for the quality you get with this app, the price for the pro features is well worth it to support this app and developer!

Really Enjoying The App WORTH THE 5$

I just gotta thanks for creating this emulator through a app. As someone’s who’s always been a console gamer…to go back, and play the old games I fell in love with means a lot to me. I spent 100’s of hours then gaming, and plan to spend 100’s of hours gaming now through this app. 20 years ago I would have never have thought it possible to play PlayStation 1 on a device I can hold in the palm of my hand. I was curious about the Hi Resolution graphics of the emulator compared to original hardware. (My PS1 lid tray I unfortunately found out was busted so I used the PS2). (I compared FF7)The comparison blew my mind there was a significant increase in resolution, and lighting through the emulator. Minor graphical details I easily missed on original hardware could now be seen more clearly. For Gamma I airstream my phone to my smart TV, and play with Bluetooth PlayStation 5 controller. Really hope this team gets the support it deserves, and looking forward towards future emulators. So the question…is this worth a one time 5 dollars purchase for ad free experience? Absolutely, if you plan on using this app regularly the 5 dollars for uninterrupted gaming is more than reasonable. The app runs great, nice hi resolution graphics, and controller support.
