Description

With the GarageMate App, you can open your garage door using your iPhones and or Apple Watch. You can pair up to 8 phones/watches. The GarageMate App requires purchase of our Bluetooth4.0 GarageMate Receiver available from our website and on Amazon.

GarageMate is trusted by thousands of users worldwide and is the most secure garage door opener. The simple installation takes 2 minutes. Even if someone else has the GarageMate App they will not be able to open your garage without your permission.

Compatible with Genie, Liftmaster, Chamberlain, Sears Craftsman, Raynor, Wayne-Dalton, Axis Cam, AccessMaster, Somfy, and nearly all garage door openers built in the last 50 years that use a simple wall switch. Note that newer Liftmaster/Chamberlains/Craftsman that have a YELLOW learn button will only work with Chamberlain accessories and are not compatible with GarageMate. Please visit our compatibility page for more details.

Only devices that have been previously paired to the GarageMate Receiver can open your garage door. The pairing process requires physical access to the receiver so it it not possible for someone else to pair their phone to the receiver from outside your garage.

The GarageMate App is FREE and you can buy the latest low-cost GarageMate Receiver from our website https://bluemate.com or by searching for "GarageMate" on Amazon. The GarageMate Receiver includes a power adapter and never needs batteries. Your old remotes and wall switch will will continue to work just as they did before.

We performed extensive fail-safe testing under extreme temperatures of -40F to above 140F. We also tested high humidity, power loss problems, and many other situations. Even under extreme conditions, the GarageMate Receiver never opens your garage door accidentally. Also, because you can password protect your phone and the App, we believe this is the most secure way to access your home. With password protection, if you lose your phone no one can enter your home. The same can't be said for keys and your other garage door remotes.

Thank you for the download and support.

Was excited

I was really excited when I saw this. Downloaded it and the install was easy. It works great to open the garage if I am inside the garage or to put the garage door down. It will not, however, open the garage door from outside. The signal is not strong enough. I have a newer house with a lightweight metal garage door. Sometimes I have to move my iPhone around to get garage mate to open my door from outside so the problem may be unique to me. It would be nice to go walking without my phone but that didn’t happen.

Thank you Developer for your prompt response. That is great customer service. I have an Apple Watch series 5 so I don’t think the watch is the issue. My garage mate is 4 years old. Would that matter? Thanks so much

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your review and sorry for the trouble. Could you let us know which Apple Watch model you have. Our company only field tested Series 3 and later. Perhaps the Series 1 and 2 watch have a lower signal strength. But we were definitely impressed by the Series 3 Watch so we didn't we didn't anticipate any range issues. Also most of our customers have a metal door so that shouldn't be the issue. One possible consideration that might help is the angle you hold your arm. With a watch, unlike a phone, there is a much greater chance your body tissue is what is blocking the signal. Thank you and we hope this message helped.

Works! Very handy for when it’s difficult to take out phone.

It did crash a couple times when trying to sync but I believe I was not doing it correctly. It also crashes when using but after a couple more tries it will work. Once I got the watch synced I took the dogs for a walk and it worked when I returned home. Then I sat about 40 ft away and it crashed a few times but It worked eventually. Needs a fix for that but still love it!

Developer Response ,

Hi Dirk. Thanks for the review. We are releasing a new version (4.0.3) later today that should fix this random crash problem. Could you please email us or update your review then to let us know if it solved the problems you encountered. Our internal testing hasn't shown this issue so it is difficult to be sure on our end. Thanks again! LP, GarageMate Support

Simple, just works...

Nicely done package on watch.

Paired as second device after the iPhone. Pairing was trivial. And so far it just works. Easy to go on walks with nothing but the watch and using garage as exit/entry.
