Not bad!

This is an ok app, if you’re only using bagged soil. I would have loved to see the option of cubic yards. This app could have been a nice feature on your seed to spoon growing app, which I LOVE!

A partial solution for the math impaired

If you can’t remember how to calculate volume and are too occupied to look it up, this app is for you! Perfect if you’re buying soil or potting mix by the bag, the most expensive way to go.

Notably, it doesn’t calculate components if you’re making Mel’s Mix, which, of course is the important information as you’d be buying peat moss, vermiculite and compost. Nor does it breakout different compost amounts by source (5 recommended).

You’d only need two inputs. First, the total volume calculated by this app and second, the compost percent of the total volume (33% original Mel’s to 50% Mel’s II). My simple excel spreadsheet does both and calculates total cost and cost per cubic foot, so I’ll be deleting this app.

I do love the Garden app and am anxiously awaiting Garden +.

Home Depot has this right on the product page

If you happen to buy bagged soil or mulch from Home Depot you can get this exact same thing right on the product page and the bag count is specific to what product you re looking at.
This app would only be good for those who failed math. If you graduated high school you should be ok with a pencil and paper. Please focus on improving the core app rather than build secondary apps that are a solution looking for problem.
