Description

Location-based RPG game. Gate of Abyss is infused with multiple character classes, quests and guilds.

THE SETTING

Portals are proliferating all over the world, causing mayhem as evil creatures trickle out of them. As a player in Gate of Abyss, you are a member of The Alliance, a mighty organization formed as a last line of defense against the chaos and darkness that is quickly ripping the world apart. Travel around and close these portals to end the destruction, but be wary of Reapers that viciously guard each portal.

Gate of Abyss reflects a parallel dimension of Earth. GPS is used to determine your location, and you explore this dimension by travelling around physically with your phone. Day and night is reflected by the time zone of your location, and the game map distinguishes between features such as land and water bodies.

EXPLORE

Roam around solo or with friends in real life and discover monsters, complete quests and seek hidden treasures. Join parties & guilds.

FIGHT

Defend the world against the darkness by killing mobs and destroying portals, or take part in PvP arenas to leave your mark in leaderboard rankings.

BUILD

Construct buildings that will support you and fellow players. Set your hometown where you wish to reside and establish a town hall to attract citizens.

Suitable for gamers of all levels, whether you're a casual player with limited time or a hardcore player seeking a real challenge.

Bug fixes

The game seems too simplistic I expected to be able to team up with friends from the start etc , also have been struggling to get customer support because in game there are none , now I can’t level or fight mobs anymore . Please make a support button etc or fix the bugs in game too. Been waiting long time for the game on iOS to be having problems like this.

Work in progress with lots of potential

I’ve been following the growth of this game for a while and playing it in the different early stage evolutions so far. It has come a long way! And it’s clearly developing consistently and has great potential to work within a whole ecosystem of games, currently the other one being Nova Frontier X. The back stories to these two games are being developed and you can read them on the homepages for now. Personally I think it’ll be a couple more years before the games are completely ready for mass adoption, but I enjoy being part of the early growth and seeing how they evolve, as well as what other games might come up in the ecosystem.
Currently there’s also a TestFlight version, which seems to work better than the App Store version, so I play with that one. Best way to follow along is joining the Tipsy Company’s discord server to stay up-to-date. There are NFTs and other paid ways to participate in the community (like TipsyCoin…I own both the coin and NFTs myself), but no money at all is needed to join in.
I’d recommend downloading the TestFlight version (you can find the link on the website), and also reading the Chronicles on the website to get a feel for the story that’s being developed and join in on the fun!

An ending that never began.

Years after hearing about this game and it’s second launch. The game still is still not ready to be released.

That’s it. That’s the review. Locked in an “Please update new version” screen… without the ability to update to a new version.

If you do mange to run the game on your iOS device.
Please, do not pour any funds into in app purchases. As this company is likely to tank and not refund a dime.
