Gemini is an incredible tool. It’s like having access to a panel of experts and a tireless, personal assistant all rolled into one whether I need help with brainstorming answering questions or even just a casual conversation Gemini is always there to provide insightful and helpful responses.
MISLEADING, NOT THE OFFICIAL GOOGLE GEMINI APP!!
This app is marketed as if it were the official Gemini app, using a logo, font, colors, and even the name “Gemai” which looks just like “Gemini” when you aren’t looking too closely. the first picture for the app says “Powered by Gemini” which is technically true but still misleading (also that picture has some small text at the bottom that misspells the app’s name??)
In reality, this app is a simple frontend for the Gemini, ChatGPT, and Deepseek APIs. Other than the paid pro versions of these models, all of these AIs are accessible for free from their official websites/apps. Because of this, there is no reason to use this app other than the added convenience of having them all in the same place.
However, that convenience is overwritten by the fact that the app limits your number of messages behind a paywall ($7/week subscription or $99 for a lifetime), gives you ads, and tries to collect user data for targeting ads. I was able to ask a grand total of 3 prompts before being stopped by the paywall.
Overall, this app should be avoided because it is deliberately marketed in a misleading way, tries to collect user data, and charges steep prices for otherwise free services.
The best ask Ai feature
I’d give it 5 stars if you were able to make a one time payment to utilize the ask portion of the app so it can search the internet for me and give me a nice little presentation to answer my question. I don’t need an Ai app to literally do everything in my life for me, but Gemini is the one I would pay for if I did. I just like how quickly it provides me with a comprehensive answer opposed to typing my question into Google and getting a bunch of links to use to figure out the information I am seeking.
