more Everything abt Genjo feels calming, from the simplicity of the line drawings to the soothing voice of the guided meditations. I appreciated the simple, straightforward onboarding, and love the surprise me feature. The meditations are short, yet profound, making them accessible in moments where we need calming the most. At a moment when climate anxiety is only rising, this is a great resource.

Genjo is a beautifully designed meditation app that helps me slow down and reconnect, especially when I’m feeling anxious about the state of the world. The guided meditations are thoughtful, grounding, and easy to return to. It strikes a perfect balance of simplicity and depth. Highly recommended!

Climate change causes me stress, sometimes these moments can be very acute. Genjo helps me relax and guides me towards a positive mindset. The artwork is very clever too.

That pretty much says it- in life and teaching, I’m so frustrated with people not "getting it”; maybe this’ll help.

With Earth Month here, and Earth Day on April 22, we’ve been thinking a lot about the space between awareness and action.
So, we’ve put together a curated set of mindfulness tools to support moments of overwhelm, reflection, or just slowing down.
If Genjo has been helpful to you, we’d love to hear from you! You can reach me anytime at megan@genjo.app.

To mark World Sleep Day, we’ve added a new Sleep feature to Genjo.
For many people, climate worries can make it harder to wind down at night. That’s why we created nature-based sleep soundscapes to help the nervous system settle.
When people hear the sounds of nature, their bodies often relax on their own, and the mind remembers how to rest. We hope these sounds support you.
We love hearing from you. Reach out anytime at megan@genjo.app.

We've updated some of our messaging to strike a better balance: helping climate-aware folks find us while not overwhelming people who might need these tools but didn't know to look for them.
All along we've been helping you find calm in a changing world, resilience for when the world feels loud, skills to navigate modern stress, and tools that help with the everyday moments, like processing big headlines or preparing for hard conversations.
Hopefully that's now better reflected here on the app store and within the app.
If you've been here, you know what Genjo is about. If you're new: we're glad you found us.
As always, we welcome your feedback at megan@genjo.app

We added a new "Start Here" section. If you're new or not sure where to start, you'll find it at the top of the Today tab. It's a small collection of practices that work well as entry points, things like the After Climate News tool and the Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation lesson.
Sometimes having too many options makes it harder to begin. This is meant to make that easier.
I always appreciate hearing your questions and feedback. Write anytime to megan@genjo.app.

We added a new practice for the winter solstice. There are five reflections to help you pause with the longest night and mark the season's turning.
Small rituals like this create moments of meaning. I hope it helps you feel connected to something larger than the daily churn.
We also redesigned the Explore page so you can find what you need more easily. And, if you're using iPad, you should notice some improvements to the design as well.
I always appreciate hearing your questions and feedback. Write anytime to megan@gejno.app.

In this July update we've made some quiet improvements behind the scenes to keep Genjo flowing smoothly for you. July holds different meanings for each of us - deep summer heat, winter's quiet, heavy rains, or something entirely your own. Whatever this month brings to your corner of the world, may these small improvements offer gentle support for your practice.
As always, I welcome your stories, feedback, and "hellos" at megan@genjo.app.

Sometimes, words aren't what we need. Our new nature soundscapes are made for those moments.
Nature heals because your system recognizes home in these ancient voices. Your heart rate finds its natural pace. Your breathing deepens without effort. You remember you belong here.
Use them when you need to feel grounded. When the world feels loud. When you want to step into nature without leaving your space.
We're also introducing subscriptions.
There are three tiers: Accessible, Sustaining, and Supporter. Pay what feels right for your situation.
If cost is a barrier, email us at access@genjo.app and we'll provide free access. Climate-aware mindfulness support should be available to everyone.
If introducing subscriptions feels disappointing, please know that as a solo builder, subscriptions will make Genjo sustainable so I can keep focused on the mission - creating climate-aware mindfulness support for those who need it most. That's why we offer three tiers (pay what feels right) and free access if cost is a barrier.
Your support (wether through a subscription, review, feedback, or sharing with a friend) helps this work continue - and I'm grateful.
- Megan

The new Mindful Climate Awareness series offers gentle support for moments like these.
These short, body-based practices help with:
• Reading climate news with more intention
• Noticing when thoughts pull you away
• Grounding when the future feels uncertain
• Listening to stress signals in the body
Find the series now in the Lesson Library.

You may have seen Genjo featured in “Big Apps from Small Teams.” As a solo founder (and a busy mom), that one meant a lot.
I love creating new content and features to support you, but sometimes, the work happens behind the scenes. This is one of those updates.
This release is all about helping the people who need Genjo most be able to find it. Think - subtle improvements to how Genjo shows up in App Store searches.
Thank you for being here. May this space keep meeting you where you are.
P.S. If Genjo has helped you, would you consider leaving a review? It helps others find their way here too. And if you ever want to share more, my inbox is always open - megan@genjo.app.

1.5.8 05/25/2025
This Mental Health Month, we’re introducing Micro-Lessons—bite-sized wisdom to help you understand and process climate emotions like anxiety, grief, and anger.
These short lessons help you recognize what’s happening in your mind and body. Like the urge to stay constantly busy to avoid feeling despair, or the sense of shutdown when the crisis feels too big.
By exploring how nervous system patterns, emotional habits, and belief systems show up in climate-aware contexts, Micro-Lessons lay the foundation for Genjo’s reflective practices, meditations, and tools.
