Needs some work but has potential
I would love to have the ability to be able to set up a mission without have to connect to my drone, so I can save battery. I do all my preflight app planning the night before I do a job so having the ability to plan the mission before I connect to my drone would be awesome and save me time on site. I would give it 5 stars if you could provide that capability.
I used this app for a We Go Look roof inspection job. The building was a large warehouse, not your average home. The mission planning requires you to have the drone powered on to plan a mission which starts to deplete the battery of the drone. Then after the mission is planned and you are down a few percent of battery life, you launch the drone. The app will have the drone fly very slowly over the selected area to “calibrate” the selected mission area using about 17 percent more of the battery and not having taken any photos yet. Then it makes an odd pattern and begins to take photos needed for the mission. It will take a photo then fly all the way over to the other side of the building and take a photo, then fly all the way back to the other side of the building and take a photo wasting battery life. After that part of the process is over, which takes a few minutes and leaving the battery with about 60% left for the rest of the mission, it hovers for about 30 to 45 seconds while the app is figuring out what to do next and uploading it to the drone, expending more battery time. The grid makes a pattern over the building to fly and gather more data, but instead of starting at the nearest point it makes the drone fly all the way to the opposite end of the building to begin that leg of the process, expending more battery time. If you are lucky enough to have optimum flying conditions (warm and little to no wind) you will have enough battery time left to complete this part of the mission with enough battery to land. There are still more patterns for the drone to fly and more data to acquire before the mission is complete, however at this point the battery has about 20% left (enough to land) needs to be to be replaced with a fully charged battery which is all fine and good except, except, that once you take manual control of the drone to land, the entire mission is aborted and deleted and cannot be resumed from where you stopped to replace the battery. Once the battery is replaced you need to replay the entire mission and start all the way from the beginning again. This app has potential but needs a lot more work efficiently. I don’t see how large buildings are mapped using this app. Please fix this so it works properly like other apps like Pix4D Capture or DJI Ground Saltation Pro
