GIFT On-Demand 4+

In town to help our kids get settled and we chose not to rent a car. Used this service three times. Great experience each time. App easy to use and very intuitive.

I arrived at the airport and had already downloaded the app. I didn’t schedule a ride in advance because I was worried the plane would be delayed and I would miss it. Got on the app and requested a ride; it said it would be 2 1/2 hours. I debated doing Uber instead but for the same ride it would have been $23, and I wasn’t in a huge rush, so I sat there and kept checking to see if it would update. After 45 minutes the estimated arrival was still the same, and I decided to call to see if the phone operator could arrange a driver faster than the app. 7 minutes later — not hours later — I was picked up. Skip the app and just call instead! 5 star ride, 1 or 2 star app. Needs some work. But the ride was great, the driver was great, and I would do it again. But not using the app.

The app is only partially voiceover accessible. I could not independently use the drop-down controls to schedule a ride in advance or enter credit card info. There is no speech accessible way to know how far away the driver is once a ride is scheduled. When the accessibility issues are fixed, this will be a 5-star app. The service, which launched today, is greatly appreciated and a fantastic addition to our community.
