Horrible Game

Would give this zero stars if possible. One must move the cursor EVERY TIME in order to select a play for drawing a card or discarding a card. Game very slow as a result. BORING! Sorry I wasted what little this piece of junk cost. Do not buy. Save your pennies.

Developer Response ,

How would you like to draw a card? How would you like to play a card? The suggested method to draw a card is to drag the card from the pile and drop it in your hand where you want to place it. Yes, this requires the cursor to be moved. Are you asking for key commands to do these actions (e.g. type 'K', type 'S', and then hit cmd 'D' to discard the king of spades?)

not the game I grew up with

My grandfather taught me to play straight gin rummy when I was young and it is the only game I or anyone else I know has ever played. I never heard of knocks or melds before and the scoring system is ridiculous. You shooul have an option of plying the straight game that most people know

Additional response:

I looked on the web for information about straight Gin Rummy. It was not clear to me how the scoring is done. When a player gins, are all the points in the opponent hand counted or just his unmelded cards? Or is it just counted as a win of 1 point and the grand winner is the one who wins the best of 7 rounds (scoring 4+ wins)?

Original response:
You are describing the version "straight Gin Rummy" where no knocking is allowed.

I will try to add the option to play "straight Gin Rummy".

I am following the version of Gin Rummy where knocking is allowed. See the link:

https://www.pagat.com/rummy/ginrummy.html

The only major change that I have is that 11 cards are dealt to the non-dealer rather than having the 21st card turned face up to start the discard pile.

Not user friendly

Requires users to move cards around instead of aligning them automaticly. Very rudimentary layout. Requires multiple steps to draw or discard while other apps require much fewer steps.

Developer Response ,

The step to draw a card is to drag it from the stock pile and drop it on a card in your hand where you want it to go. The step to discard a card is to drag it from your hand and drop it on the discard pile. You may be using the buttons to move the cards around. Dragging a card is easier. You can also select multiple cards in your hand and drop them say at the beginning of your hand to arrange them. Run the demo to see this in action.
