Glamis Guide: Offline Dune Map
Imperial Sand Dunes, no signal
Free
Now on Apple Watch: mark camp from your wrist, follow an arrow home and record every ride. The offline map of the Imperial Sand Dunes. Zero bars required.
The Imperial Sand Dunes are 40 miles of sand with no roads and no cell service. Glamis Guide is the map that works out there.
Everything is on your phone before you leave home. NAIP imagery of the whole recreation area ships inside the app, with a custom elevation model applied so every bowl, ridge and slip face is easy to read. Nothing to download. Zero bars required.
NOW ON APPLE WATCH
Mark camp from your wrist and follow a big arrow back to it. Start Ride tracks you with your wrist down. Back To Start retraces your exact path. Complications show sunset, wind, temperature and the way to camp.
80 PLACES, EACH WITH ITS STORY
37 camps, 36 points of interest, vendors, food and both ranger stations. Oldsmobile Hill, China Wall, Sunset Hill, Sand Drags, Swingset, Competition Hill and more. Each place has a photo, its elevation, its story and its live distance from you. Start with Glamis Essentials, the six places every rider should visit once.
A STRAIGHT LINE TO ANYTHING
There are no roads out here, so there are no turns. Pick any place, waypoint or your camp and get a straight line with live distance and compass heading. Distance and direction appear on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. If your line crosses a closed area, the app warns you.
MARK IT. RECORD IT. FIND YOUR WAY BACK.
• Mark Camp with one tap the moment you park
• Press and hold to drop a waypoint with a name, note and color
• Record every ride with your phone locked, with distance, moving time, top speed and climb
• Follow any track back, start to end or end to start, with an alert when you drift off
CLOSED AREAS, MARKED
The North Algodones Dunes Wilderness and the BLM OHV closures appear in purple. Ride into one and the app tells you, with a buzz.
WEATHER FOR THE DUNES
Current conditions, wind with gusts, UV and sunset, measured at the dunes, plus a 5-Day Forecast and National Weather Service alerts. The last forecast stays on your phone after the signal is gone.
GLOVES ON
Widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen. Controls for Control Center and the Action button. Siri works with no setup: “Mark camp in Glamis Guide.”
MEET ME AT OLDSMOBILE
Share any place or your camp with a link. Friends without the app still see the spot, the distance and the direction, with nothing to install.
YOUR RIDES STAY YOURS
Free. No account. No ads. No tracking. Your location, camp and tracks never leave your phone. Built for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with VoiceOver, larger text and Dark Mode.
