GlanceBar: perfect status bar 4+

Great update and fantastic support!

After downloading v1.0, I dropped an email to the developer suggesting a couple of features - the ability to select which calendar/calendars appear and the same thing for Reminder lists. The developer responded almost immediately that he was working on that. This morning, he followed up with an email to let me know that v1.1 was released and he added those features (and more). I think the app is very well done and very convenient. But the direct support from the developer is what makes this exceptional!

A nice little widget stack for a $5 IAP

All these people bellyaching about the in-app purchase clearly didn’t bother to look in the IAP section of this app’s Store listing. This dev was cool enough to offer a free demo mode to give people a sense of what the app does/looks like, and people can then buy the complete functionality through the IAP. Most similar apps not only charge a few dollars more, but they do it up front.

$5 seems like a small price to pay to get some of the widget-style features that Apple bizarrely omitted from visionOS.

Regarding features, this is a great start, but I echo what a lot of others have been saying — I would like more control over which calendars/reminders lists get shown in the widgets. Glad to hear there’s a battery status widget in the works. Depending on what the dev is able to do within the constraints of visionOS, there could be a lot of potential for this app! Will happily update my review to 5 stars once this app is a little more comprehensive.

Hi, thanks for the review and feedback. I have lots of plans for new features in GlanceBar, and giving more control of the calendars and reminders is something I'm planning on adding soon.

Wonderful Companion

This is a great concept and a good looking app. It fits in beautifully along side other windows. Very happy with the updates made to the app, and now feel it is well worth the asking price. I’d still like to see the ability to set weather to a location manually rather than use GPS - but the fact I now have the option to disable it altogether is satisfactory. Thank you to the Developer for your work.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I just released v1.1 which lets you choose which calendars and which reminders lists are shown. I hope you'll give GlanceBar another look.

Regarding GPS, the app checks your location only once when you open the app, so it's not constantly accessing your location. I understand the concern about giving apps access to your location, but we really don't do anything other than ask for location one time and then use that to display the weather. I agree that being able to specify location using zip code or similar would be a nice additional and it's definitely something I'll consider adding for convenience.
