In Go, joseki (定石 jōseki?) are studied sequences of moves in the corner areas of the Go board, for which the result is considered balanced for both black and white sides. Because games typically start with plays in the corners, players often try to use their understanding of joseki to gain local advantages in the corners — advantages which can in turn make for a better overall position. Though less common, there are also joseki for the middle game. In Japanese, 定 (jō) means "fixed" or "set" and 石 (seki) means stones, giving the literal meaning "set stones", as in "set pattern". In Chinese, the term for joseki is 定式, dìngshì.

Ratings and Reviews
Great Joseki flash cards that bug for ratings incessantly
This app is a great source of explanation on various Joseki sequences. Options and their drawbacks are presented in a reasonably clear way, although (on a 6s+ size screen), the formatting is a little goofy, where the move buttons cover up the text in the text window sometimes.
-1 star because the app seems to ask for ratings every time you open it, even if you tell it no. Normally, that's a deal breaker, but I'm interested in a Joseki app that provides explanations, so I'll deal for now. If it keeps bugging me, I'll be 1 starring this app because that is unacceptable.
Just covers Hoshi
The demo just covers the 4-4 star point. However, it does provide a good variety for that one opening. Does not provide enough info about why a given sequence is or is not joseki, leaving you to figure it out on your own, which has improved my own game, but leaves me somewhat confused on some of the more complicated sequences. All in all I'd call it a wash, three stars.
Fantastic
Well worth the $5 to practice joseki and have explanations for the moves. Personally, I have a hard time just studying joseki, I usually look up a joseki after messing it up in a real game. This app is perfect for that. The “research” mode is also really helpful because it lets me play out some “what-if” scenarios without having to use a real board or external SGF editor.
