No Support For Apple Wallet!
This app really needs to add support for Apple Wallet to allow passengers to have quick access to their tickets and not deal with app connectivity and login problems/delays when trying to scan their ticket. The app is sometimes quite slow and often challenges you for your password and the wifi doesn’t always work well making it a big hassle to open the app, login and search for your ticket when you’re in a hurry. Also, the barcode scanners don’t work very well when your phone brightness is low - Apple Wallet would take care of this by temporarily brightening the screen when scanning.
Excellent service, impossible to use app
I’ve ridden the BL train over 20 times and the experience is very good overall. The trains and stations are both very clean and functional with ample power outlets and usb charging stations throughout. One thing that is a bit strange is how strict they are on sitting in your assigned seat (that is preassigned with no option to select where you sit). I’ve been on many twins with only a couple of passengers that were assigned seats next to each other. When they tried to sit in a nearby seat to have their own row, the staff was strangely adamant and borderline rude demanding the passenger sit in their assigned seat next to a stranger.
Unlike the pleasant overall experience riding, using the application is a nightmare. When searching for trains the app takes forever and often times out. If you have booked tickets and need to change your train time it is very confusing and also frequently times out. Also, the system at the BL station doesn’t read scans of your qr codes that have been screenshot ahead of time for ease due to app frequently timing out while trying to pull up ticket to catch a train.
Rating train and its system, not the app
Website bites. Is ill/ lack of informed about everything. FYI. Parking costs $6 for 24 hours and app is mandatory. I had # on my phone and temp tags on car. Couldn’t update THAT on the phone so had to download THAT app just to park. When I booked Brightline ticket, don’t email had no QR so printed ticket. Also no QR. So even though I was 30 min early for train, before parking debacle, I was now bit pressed for time. Went upstairs and they directed me back downstairs to get proper ticket. Waited then once at counter told to go to kiosk to print ticket. Did so. Kiosk showed no valid reservation. So back to que at ticket counter. Then they couldn’t find my reservation even though I was holding printout. Now three minutes to departure. Told they would hold train. Then told I should have arrived earlier. Really?!?! Finally printed ticket. Ran upstairs. Tried to use printed ticket to get through gates. Gates showed train already left. And to go rebook. Gal said she would hold train. Couldn’t find my name on manifest. Even though ticket in hand. Ugh! Finally let me through anyway. Ugh.
