In evaluating the GoCodes app it struck me as another great example of disintermediation, this time of proprietary and expensive asset management and inventory tracking hardware and software. Taking an elegantly developed app and combining it with an iPhone found everywhere opens up possibilities for small to medium sized businesses where an application like this is ordinarily out of reach. Nice work GoCodes!

I can find the asset easily. QR scanning is really cool!

Better than the website

It works smoother than the HTML5 version. Some things that would be nice if added, a mass check out mode. When you scan an asset in this mode it immediately ask you to type in the assignee name.

Not what I was expecting.

I scan a barcode and it came up and said barcode not found. It did not give me any options to inventory that item or how to save it in a file.

Thanks for trying GoCodes. Were sorry to hear that your experience adding your first asset did not go as planned.

GoCodes patented QR barcode labels and GPS tracking features require that we work slightly differently with the assets in our system. In most cases the asset IDs are generated in advance and asset information is then associated with them.

Best asset tracking ever

New to GoCodes

I just started using GoCodes to track inventory and I love how quick the camera scans QR codes, however I wish there could be a couple features that GoCodes would add or improve to make tracking a bit more efficient.
1. On the mobile app version I'm not able to view the item description in the list of assets. Only when you click on each asset are you able to view the exact details. A bit difficult to look up something when all you see is the QR code serial number. The 'list of assets' should be easy to read.
2. Having to manually/mentally add subtract from what's "on hand" is a bit cumbersome. Wish we could simple scan the asset and punch in what's being added/deducted and GoCodes automatically update on-hand quantities.

If these two features could be added/improved, I would give GoCodes 5 stars.
