I miss the simplicity of the old version
Laundry list of annoyances with the updated app:
Took a number of emails with the support team to gain access and get my subscription and past rounds restored
I've played two rounds with this new app and it's been frustrating. Once I advance to the next hole I cannot figure out how to add/remove shots from the earlier hole if I made a mistake.
I like to load a course and then flip my phone to airplane mode and play with gps enabled. That works fine on an app like the GHIN app but trying that in golf metrics results in the app refusing to let me add shots.
A few of the holes I played on show up in the app as being all rough and not fairway which results in misleading stats or force me to look closely at each lie in the app and update.
On the positive side, having gps app with their target feature is nice but it doesn't offset the issues I've run into.
Tl;dr What I really want from golf metrics are the metrics and something that's simple to use for entry. The old app had it and and this one just overly complicates things.
Not sure if anyone asked for this update
I’ve had nothing but good things to say about Golfmetrics until they refreshed the app. The old app, while not the most visually appealing, was far superior. Shot entry on the new app is glitchy, doesn’t properly sync up with the scorecard, and the maps where you must place the pins are just straight up inaccurate. It really is a bummer because I loved the old data entry and analysis. I’ve stopped using this altogether until they revert some of these changes or add the ability to use the old data entry system. I understand that they want to be a “one stop shop” for GPS and strokes gained, but they’ve taken what they were good at previously (strokes gained) and pretty much ruined it. Please, Golfmetrics, fix your app. You used to have something great.
Version 3 is a mess
Lost all my rounds from previous versions. Made me create an account, sign up for a new subscription and has now lost my subscription.
So I paid for the old version by month. And mid month, a new version of the app comes out. Cool, it could use an update. Now new version makes me pay again for the month. Bummer but whatever. Input yesterdays round, and today, I need a new subscription. I hope they fix the bugs, and soon before it auto renews
