I have 18 birdies and Arcos, which are incredible apps. But I have to pay for all the additional stat tracking and everything with my golf game. This app does not charge you for anything that relates to the caddy app experience, it’s all free!And what is awesome Is you earn Points when you play. Those points are traded in for golf clubs or balls. I’ve been playing this app for a month and I already have enough points to buy a new set of irons and a new set of wedges. You can select different levels of membership, I paid for the $50 a month membership. And I’ve already paid for new irons and a brand new set of Cleveland wedges. I can’t believe it. But they showed up at my door from ordering on the app with points I earned. And I also got five boxes of Srixon Z star balls! Insane!

This app doesn’t just provide a great GPS distance/Course overview, it also makes golf fun again by providing different and many unique ways to engage with the community. Earn points that can be used towards sweepstakes entries or even trade them in for real world items (balls, clubs, etc). One thing I really enjoy is the GPS not just shows distance but also pulls local weather to show Wind speed and direction. This adjusted according to your position/orientation showing you accurate wind direction. Which is a lot more than I can say about my Bushnell X3+ Link rangefinder! Really enjoying the app so far and excited to see the more updates and features rolling out in the future!

I’ve been an early app user and have to say the digital caddie features are just as good, if not better than the likes of 18 Birdies, the Grint, etc. Add to it that it rewards you, similar to airline miles and credit card points, it’s a no brainer for any regular golfer to have. You’re leaving value on the table not having this if you play at least a few times a month. Low end membership probably gets you a new high end driver or putter after a season of golfing. New favorite app!

I’ve been using all kinds of caddie apps for a nearly decade. GolfN is the first one that is doing something new that I’ve seen in quite some time. The GPS in the digital caddie is really good: some of the best mapping out there. They also haven’t feature-gated anything so you don’t have to pay for “plays like” or arc targets or advanced analytics. But what’s awesome is the whole points system and social features. You legitimately want to play more golf and socialize because the more you do the more points you earn and you can convert them into all kinds of stuff. The app is in open beta so I’m eager to see more features come out soon like GHIN sync and Apple Watch. But their initial launch has a lot to like.
