GolfTrak 4+

Needs a lot of work but a good start.

I like the direction this app is heading but it isn’t very practical because you cans use the screen to setup the ball unless you put your club down. Lots of delay before reading the results and I haven’t been able to get enough reps in because it’s so cumbersome to operate. Also I could see how to get back to the metrics after they left the screen.

Thank you for trying out GolfTrak! You raise a good point here regarding reading the screen. GolfTrak does integrate with e6 Connect for iOS and soon with TGC 2k21 and 2k23! To get the most out of it you would need to use a 2nd device like an iPad. With e6 Connect, that stores all your shot data and you can review everything there (including their online portal). We would love to help you get more out of GolfTrak!

Amazing product for any golfer

First, I can’t believe this tech is just imbedded into my phone and second, that the app is free! Rather than spending $10k+ on a clunky launch monitor that you need to carry around with a device to run, you get 90% of the functionality in your pocket for free! Amazing. I would say the reliability is about the same as it is at TopGolf - most of the time it looks right with a couple yards, can have the odd shot that doesn’t register. Highly recommend for hitting at range, into net, and can even be used on course if you have a tripod. This is really cool, bc you can see distance is accurate vs the laser measured flag and really dial in your numbers - please don’t slow the group down behind you! Highly recommend

The software needs a lot of work

I wanted this app to work, but it’s just not where it needs to be to be enjoyable. This is coming from a pretty poor golfer. However, I know that when I chip the ball directly into the net in front of me it certainly hasn’t been hit 45 degrees to the right and 150 yards….

It is “unable to read the shot” more than half the time. And yes I’ve followed directions to set everything up as instructed. Hopefully after more research it can be up to par one day. Ha.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We're really sorry to hear about the issues you’ve had with GolfTrak. Those results certainly aren’t what we’re aiming to deliver for users.

Hitting Nets are one of the most difficult environments for us to track given there are so many variables and setups we need to identify. However over the past month we’ve worked specifically on this environment and our latest release (2.0.6) includes some updates to hitting nets and fixes for the bugs you were experiencing with shot direction.

I know we’ve missed the mark for your first impressions and this is a big ask, but I’d really appreciate if we could get a ‘mulligan’ and get you to give GolfTrak another try? We’re trying to make GolfTrak as fun and enjoyable for as many people as possible so if you do get a chance to try it out again, please provide us with more feedback on the results. You can email me directly via play@golftrak.app and mention this review so myself and the team have more context on your issues. 

We’d also highly recommend switching on Innovation mode during your next experience. This allows us to check the ‘raw’ shot data and improve our machine learning model so when we update the app next time it will have ‘learnt’ from your setup and hopefully be much more accurate.
