App Doesn’t Work
I got the light installed ok and got it paired with the app. It did a firmware update I can turn the light off and on manually with the power button on the app but I can’t change the settings to dusk to dawn or custom. It flashes then goes to a white screen when I click on the settings. I have deleted and redownloaded the app. Definitely would not have paid $80 for the light without a functioning app.
Update: The developer replied and stated that after the firmware update, you need to delete the device totally from the app and add it back. This DOES work so I have updated my review. The app should be updated so that this isn’t a continuing issue (in my opinion) because it isn’t stated anywhere on the App Store.

Used to work but no more
I bought two of these lights several months ago and I managed to get them working at the time, though it seemed like an accident when they finally worked. They worked for quite a while but I haven’t tried to use them for a bit. The app went through an update recently. The lights got turned off, and the app couldn’t find them anymore. I have tried several times to re-pair them. After four tries I finally got one of the two lights to pair with the app again, but I have been unable to get the second one to pair. Now I keep landing on a screen asking me to confirm the light is in pairing mode (blinking rapidly) but when I tap the blue confirmation button at the bottom, the app does nothing at all. I tried changing pairing modes and was completely unsuccessful in getting the lights to blink slowly so now I am left with one of my two lights working and the other one on bright all the time. Unacceptable.
To add insult to injury, the app support button in the App Store gets a page not found error. Thanks a lot.
If you can ever get the app to talk to your lights, it actually works pretty well.
I was able to pair and the app controls and fiction screen appeared. I started changing the temperature and light color and brightness. I decide I would finish customizing the light settings later. When I started the app later, I picked my device, GEL Security Light, and you briefly see the control and functions appear and it quickly goes to a blank white screen. I tried removing the app downloading it again but it still does the same thing. The light is useless if I can’t set the timer and security settings. All it does now is turns on when you press the on/off button. When it is on, it stays on all the time. I’m unable to repair it again because it is too high to reach. The light was setup and paired when the siding was recently replaced. The installer pushed the pair button after he attached the light to the new siding. It pair perfectly. The light is fine, it’s just the software app that is defective. How do I fix this? Has anyone else experienced the same problem?
