Good Timer
Ratings & Reviews
For a good timer, look no further than Good Timer. Really, all I *heeded* was the ability to go fullscreen and start, stop, and reset the timer with a keystroke — and this app delivers.Currently, I'm using the timer in a PIP on Zoom. It's great to let speakers know how much time is remaining in their presentation. I'd love to be able to add a background to the timer (or otherwise adjust background and text colors); I'd also like to customize the keystrokes, since it would be easier to find the spacebar for start/stop and the Return or Enter key for rest.
If you are looking for a collection of bells and whistles, look somewhere else. But if you are looking for an on-screen countdown clock that is easy to manage, flexible in size, with times infinitely adjustable to your needs, look no further. I am completely pleased and will use this just about every day as a Pomodoro Timer as well as a timer for all kinds of projects and events. My congratulations to the Programmer for his wise judgment in not getting fancy in ways nobody really needs.
It is rare to find an app that is simple, effective, reasonably priced and beautiful! But...Perhaps it could be made even simpler if the developer eliminated the hundredths of a second digits. I doubt anyone would be interested in such a degree of precision for count down. But do not make it an option. Next thing you know, there will be a large menu attached with options for everything, from typefaces, color pickers, blinkers, etc. KIS!
Love this timer! It's perfect for setting my own personal pomodoro's and much simpler and nicer visually than all the other pomodoro apps out there. None of the other apps make it easy to see the time in BIG DIGITS in the corner of your screen - but this one does perfectly. Also the developer is super responsive and quickly updated the app based on a suggestion I made. So great. I'm looking forward to also getting the Good Stopwatch app next!
I've been using this to monitor break times during Zoom classroom training sessions and it works great. Leaves no doubt in students mind as to how much time is left in their break or lunch period. Easy to resize and move around the screen. Also simple to change times,
It's the best timer- it is simple, you can make it big, you can make it small. You can make it any time you want. It doesn't try to tell you anything. It's just a timer. The best timer, really. All you could ever ask for in a timer.
I use this timer when I run meetings. If the meeting is screenshare driven I'll leave it open on the screen and it allows everyone to see how we are doing on time to keep meetings focused and effective.I love that it floats and is small enough as to not be obtrusive.
for some reason all other timers just look bad. This one just looks good. I use it to timebox tasks at work. There was a bug that caused the app to fail on launch each time, but the developer responded super quickly and got me a solution.
The UX of this app is great. It is easy to set a time. I love the full screen feature because it allows me to quickly see my time or hide the countdown easily depending on my need. It is a great simple app.
This is 4 star review because you get what was promised, but nothing more and there are some things that would make this a really awesome product. - Menu bar timer (using spaces means you have to swpa spaces to see remaining time)- Any way to configure alarm sound (besides number of times it's rung: 0, 1, Infinitie)Like I said, it's a 4 star product. It's inexpensive, and accomplishes what it claims. If you need a *good* and simple timer you have found it.
I am a teacher and I needed a tiimer that I could display on my projector. It’s awesome because you can make the whole screen the timer, or keep a pretty picture up with the timer on the side.
Stable app. I have literally had other countdown timers freeze my computer. I just wish there were more options to customize how it looks.
