We had dealt with Ashley Furniture prior and was totally satisfied one in over 30 days ago spent over $17,000 in furnishings was assured that we would receive our furniture within 30 days of purchase ironically on delivery day we were delivered one dresser and one mattress with nothing else to go with it out of five rooms of furniture we tried contacting Ashley numerous times at their Waterford Woods outlet only to be let down that the managers we’re too busy to contact us because they were understaffed the communication level in this dealer of furniture is absolutely horrendous we went elsewhere and were handled in two hours but it took days to handle it Ashley the stores nothing other than a big letdown we were cash buyers and again spent over $17,000 in furnishings to be promised only one big let down again your communication levels need to improve or will be readingAbout Ashley Furniture in the news down the road the store manager at Waterford Woods store Joel tried everything in his power to try to put something together but unfortunately his hands are tied also to provide us with what we needed for the furnishings that they all promised us to be delivered!! Goes to show you a company as big as Ashley has no program in communication so sad their stores rate at 2.5 on Google reviews!! It’s just a good thing that everyone is really busy right now because their stores will be out of business if it depended on customer service
Lots of things to say...
I used to LOVE this app. But it needs a refresh. When I first got this, about 2 years ago, it was amazing. The integration with your Google account is very helpful. Suggestions are much better than Apple Maps, and I still think more businesses and places are on Google Maps than Apple Maps. That being said, now I’m using Apple Maps. Why? For starters, the colors on the map are very bland, and don’t show much detail. Apple Maps is just a pleasure to look at. The zooming in and out is not very fluid nor smooth, and when you launch the app there are simply too many pop ups, to the point where you really can’t see much of the map without swiping multiple things away. Also, integration with StreetView would be nice, especially since Apple has already built look around right into their app. So now I’m forced to make a choice: The pleasure to use, seamless Apple Maps, or the more reliable, clunky Google Maps? So far, I’m using Apple, but if Google can get their app working more nicely and fluidly, than there will simply be no competition. 4 stars for now, and iPhone users will simply have to make that choice for themselves.
Progressively getting worse
As someone else mentioned, the directions do not keep up with your physical movement. The GPS dot moves all over the place even if you are standing in one spot making it extremely difficult to get your bearings in an unfamiliar place. I may not know where I am, but I do know where I am not (...unless the men's fragrance section of Macy's has been moved outdoors and a block over). Adding to the challenge, the street names can be difficult to find. You may have to zoom out a significant amount for the one you are looking for to appear. God forbid you want to zoom out and look for something in another area. Every time I have tried recently, it just brings me back to the area I'm currently in.
Using the transit directions prove to be equally obnoxious. There will be directions to "Walk" but no explanation of where to (no "turn left on X Street") so you have to rely on their map and faulty GPS. The public transit are very confusing and counterintuitive (perhaps they're sufficient for people used to using public transit?). I couldn't always clearly tell when a bus/train was arriving.
Not sure what happened with the last few updates, as I have used Google Maps reliably on a number of past trips. I already hated to give my data over to Google but the frustration with this app on this trip makes it easy to try something new. I imagine orienteering would be easier than using this app!
