The Gotcha! App will help any finder of a lost pet to retrieve instant information about the pet and the most direct way to contact the owner. Once the finder scans the QR code tag, the owner will get instant notification about the pet’s location. With the Gotcha! tag you gain a maximum of safety and connectivity for your pet at no additional cost!
What’s New
Version 3.0.6
This release addresses an issue with the "Add a new tag to existing pet" function to improve your app experience:
Bug Fix for Tag Linking
Fixed the bug preventing new tags from linking correctly to existing pets. You can now add a new tag seamlessly after being directed to the camera.
Ratings and Reviews
Good app but could use improvement
Love the concept. The app worked fine for me, I was able to enter everything and I was notified the instant I scanned the tag. What needs improvement is the location of your pet. It shows a stagnant map with an indistinct location. The map should be connected to the Apple Maps so we can chase down our pets or capture the phone number so we can contact them (if possible). If my indoor kitty is lost I would knock on a door to get him back. Too many cases of people adopting out a found kitty vs. taking them to be scanned for a chip so they may be returned to their families.
Fraud. It doesn’t work.
My wife purchased a Gotcha! Tag and registered it. When I try to scan it will not work. At all. I thought it may need some time to activate so I waited a week. It still won’t work. I thought that maybe the registration didn’t work so I created a new account and tried to register it, but it had already been registered. I now believe the company is a complete fraud.
Finally got it to work, kinda
After much hassle I finally got a registration to take and all my data input properly. However when I test it by scanning the tag it apparently doesn’t report back to the company that a scan has happened. The location link to Google map doesn’t really do anything. Fortunately if someone finds my service dog now at least they can scan and get the information to contact me directly. A heck of a lot of work and expense when it doesn’t really do much more than the metal tag with my phone number on it. Oh - and the collar that the tag was originally attached to broke. The tag was attached by a tiny bit of rubber or plastic that didn’t survive the first test. Bought a new, better collar of a different brand.
