Whenever you want to scrap something on the screen,
you probably used Cmd+Shift+4 or some other apps.

But, as you know "Cmd+Shift+4", which is "screencapture" app included in Mac OS X, simply saves the captured image on the desktop rather than shows it to you instantly.

So, I made this! This app grabs anywhere on the screen as images and shows you instantly.

Cmd+Option+B: Grab It!
Drag: Move Images
Double Clicks: Make Images small
Right-Click Drag: Drag as a file
Cmd + w with mouse on the image: Close the image

What’s New

Version 4.932

- Bug fix: Image grabbed double-sized when screenshot is grabbed on non-HiDPI screen

Awesome, thanks

This app totally replaces the SnappHappy screenshot solution I’ve been using. The ability to grab a shot to another application is a useful timesaver. It would be great however if you could double-click and have a shot automatically saved to the desktop or somewhere else in the Finder.

Can't work without it

Thank you for making this app! It has saved an invaluable amount of time, especially being able to right-click + drag the grabit preview into another app. The only thing I would really want is a very simple text and drawing feature over our grabit previews. I find Grabit especially great when I need to take a screenshot of something quickly to share with a coworker, and a drawing ability would come in handy for times when you need to point out at something specifically. I appreciate this app and would have no problem paying for a V2 with some more capabilities such as the one I mentioned.

It's useless!

I don't if it's because I'm running Mac OS 11.3 ("Big Sur") on my MacBook Pro, but every time I open Grabit—which USED to work great on my previous Mac Desktop and I used it all the time for screen captures—it displays only ONE Menu Item, which happens to be "Quit," with absolutely NO OTHER FUNCTIONALITY! So basically, whatever this thing I've installed that's named "Grabit" is, it can do only two things: I can open it, and I can Quit it, but it won't do anything else! It doesn't even deserve the One Star I gave it in my rating!
