Guidance 4+

Simple. Minimal. Elegant. Guidance focuses on providing quality performance and a smooth experience. It notifies you of each prayer accompanied with a warm Athan and a duaa. It has a preferences option where you can adjust various settings. Timings are accurate and sits in the menu bar nicely without hampering workflow. The app doesn't require any payments and does not disturb you with ads.

Hugely appreciate the effort put into creating this app! Would love to see continuous updates and improvements.

I LOVE(D) this app. Of the many prayer time apps I tried, this one was the best, by far. I used it for years. Sadly, it has not worked properly since Mac OS Ventura. First it started freezing up, making it's own controls unavailable--a big problem for me, since I work remotely and daily have to switch prayer reminders on and off based on when I have meetings. Now, in the last few weeks, it also freezes up my browser, and my latop's system controls (e.g., "sleep" doesn't work, can't even bring up the force quit window), requiring endless reboots, only to have everything go down again. I was really hoping for an updated version of this that would work with Ventura, but nothing for the last three years. I tried contacting the developer about this, to see if one might be planned, but the only contact info is through Twitter and I never got a response. I'm very sad about it no longer working on a desktop computer. It is way more handy for me to have my reminders on my laptop than my phone, but I can no longer have this app on my computer--it sinks everything. :-((

This is the Unix philosophy, the same philosophy that the entirety of macOS is based on. There will be one tool to do a certain job, and that tool will be really specialized and really good at that job. This is exactly what that app is. This tool is very good at giving you an accurate athan, and good at letting you calibrate your settings. Even more accurate than Google is!
